On July 8th, 2015, at approximately 1:40 pm, Joseph A. Laudicina was arrested by the Crystal Lake Police Department following his release from medical care at Centegra Hospital (Woodstock).

As reported in previous press releases, the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office approved criminal charges against Joseph Laudicina in relation to a domestic violence event which occurred late in the evening of June 21st, 2015, at a residence located in the 300 block of Terra Cotta Avenue and an additional event which occurred a few hours later in the early morning hours of June 22nd, 2015, at a residence located in the 800 block of Boxwood Drive.

This second event concluded when Joseph Laudicina charged at a Crystal Lake police officer while armed with a knife, and was subsequently shot by the officer.

Joseph Laudicina was arrested on a warrant for the following criminal charges:

  • Attempted Murder, 720 ILCS 5.0/8-4(A), a Class X Felony
  • Residential Burglary, 720 ILCS 5.0/19-3, a Class 1 Felony
  • Home Invasion, 720 ILCS 5.0/19-6(a)(1), a Class X Felony
  • Vehicular Invasion, 720 ILCS 5.0/18-6(a), a Class 1 Felony
  • Aggravated Domestic Battery (2 counts), 720 ILCS 5.0/12-3.3, a Class 2

Joseph Laudicina was immediately transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock following his arrest, where he remains under confinement.

His total bond for the five charges was set at $425,000. His initial court appearance relating to the charges remains to be set.

Suspect(s) listed are considered innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
