Cheap Culver’s Eats Tonight at Three Oaks at CL Police Event

A press release from the the Crystal Lake Police Department:

CLPD National Night Out event TONIGHT at Three Oaks Recreational Area from 5p-8p!!! FREE!!

National Night Out is a nationwide event providing an opportunity for the community and local law enforcement to come together to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.

The Vulcan Lake TIF District will suck millions out of the property tax bills of homeowners and businessmen throughout McHenry County over the next twenty or so years. Until other tax districts reach their statutory maximum every tax district that includes part of the Three Oaks Recreation Area will be able to raise their tax rates to make up for the revenue lost in the Route 14 TIF District.

Three Oaks Recreational Area is financed by the city’s 75% sales tax hike.  Originally, the Vulcan Lake TIF District was supposed to pay for it, but then the recession hit and the city went for the sales tax increase instead.

Tonight’s activities include:

  • Free Facepainting
  • Balloon Twisting Artist
  • Police and Fire/Rescue Vehicles on display
  • a Police Canine demonstration (approx. start time 7:15pm)
  • Inflatable Fire Truck Slide
  • Glowby the Bubbler
  • kids games

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital will be providing free bicycle helmet fittings and free bicycle helmets.

Onsite food vendor Culver’s will be offering a special meal deal, Hamburger or Cheeseburger with Fries, Drink and a cup of Custard for only $3.00!

Thank you to our sponsor for the 2015 National Night Out: Black Diamond Plumbing & Mechanical, Ultra Strobe and Crystal Lake CrimeStoppers!!

  1. has the tif been dissolved formally? or is it still collecting incremental property tax revenue and spending it on something else?

  2. How would the average citizen know? Tif reports are not posted on Il Comptroller website beyond 2010-2012.

Non compliance with tif reporting requirements is reportedly widespread.

I don’t believe there is any penalty for non compliance with tif reporting.

Can you tell us where to find the data on annual tif revenues and expenditures?

    Thanks!

  3. Has the CLPD “reached out” by personally apologizing to the many CL citizens they essentially assaulted in 2010?

The aggressively attacked some of their finest citizens and purposely tried to destroy their lives.

Now they have an “ice cream social” on the public dime….and that’s supposed to mend relationships?

    What a laugh.

Chief Black – why don’t you personally apologize to the people whose lives your predecessor tried to destroy.

THAT would be a sincere attempt to “build a bridge” with the community.

  4. APOLOGIES would go a long way.

However, a cup of coffee or an ice cream social, is never going to make up for the damage that has been done to peoples lives.

Kim Zinke’s friend had a neighbor falsely arrested 9 times.

Their career was destroyed because of it.

The same person also had her brother, son in law and sister in law arrested.

Demodica’s managed the property at the time.

We all know the Demodicas are linked to Zinke.

It was a really sick and sadistic chain of events that could have been prevented, if only people in their right mind had made the choice to do the right thing, which would have been arrest the people making false police reports.

Officer Lisi, should be fired and never be allowed to work as a police officer another day in his life!

  5. If you want to restore public trust officer Dean Lisi should resign or be fired.

Persaonally, I would like to more know about the people that were assaulted in 2010.

Why and who were the officers involved?
