McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan has published the 2015-16 County Yearbook and is distributing copies at a booth at the McHenry County Fair.
Graphically, it pushes my buttons.
I always used black and yellow for my campaign signs and those are the cover colors.
The County Seal is in yellow, seen through a black cover with a circle cut out.
Schools are listed, along with web site addresses, but the comprehensive information about who principals and school board members are missing.
Townships are listed, but the names of no officials are published–just web site addresses.
Political committees are listed without officers and without the names and addresses of Precinct Committeemen.
The link for the McHenry County Republican Party is wrong.
Park districts are listed, but with no details but web site addresses.
The same with library and fire protection districts.
No information about elected or appointed officials for municipalities either.
The names of county officials are not published, except for Mary E. McClellan’s name on the cover of the publication and judges. Appointed judges names are missing.
Just noticed, the names of the County Board members do appear, along with addresses and phone numbers.
Legislators names and contact information is included.
Going back far before my taking office as County Treasurer in 1966, County Yearbooks have served as a guide to who’s who in the McHenry County political firmament.

Jeez… it’s not like she had to reinvent the wheel. All she had to do was update the wealth of information that Kathy Schultz had in the book. I get it if she wishes to change up the graphics or whatever.
It sounds – from your description – that she could have accomplished much the same thing by printing HER version of the yearbook on multi-colored toilet paper. At least then it would serve some function.
Maybe she’ll catch on (or catch enough flak) to do it right next year. If not, there will be an election in 2018 and if she’s so bone-headed or stubborn that she doesn’t catch on, we can correct her mistakes then.
She is saving a bit of money on the printing. She has to make up for her husband’s salary!!

How many tax dollars were WASTED on the mailing of the voter’s id cards?
Did you get two copies?
I did, and about half of the people I talk to did.
You do not need a voter’s id card to vote in McHenry County.
So, why were they sent out?
If they were sent out to update voter rolls, how many people will unjustly lose their right to vote?
Will Loretta Lynch will be sending in her Justice Department ‘hit’ squad?
Were they sent out to assuage McClellan’s ego by giving her name more exposure?
Looking for a candidate to replace her in 2018.
She is totally inept but has great self esteem!
