  1. What are his ideas to raise revenue?

Great gimmick about the traffic light, but it is now time for voters to get real on this guy.

I am skeptical about anyone who runs on a platform to have schools and community to look anything like Carpentersville.

The only reason why C-ville doesn’t look like Detroit is from OTTO buying up distressed property.

  2. Better than Wilbrandt – may be so, but if Serwatka does in fact run, there is no contest!
    .

  3. Perhaps.

Some projects are worthwhile and benifit real estate values.

Where Skillikorn gets it wrong is that he automatically is a no on a lot of issues.

    I am in Crystal Lake.

The sportsplex was a loser everyway in which I will agree.

You gotta give folks a reason to want to be out here instead of living in Palatine, Schaumburg or Naperville.

All businesses benifit from a larger middle to upper class demographic who wants to live and raise a family here.

Lakewood could be Inverness if they played their hand right.

    Property values through the roof!

  4. Also, Lakewood needs to dump the prime lakefront real estate police station and build that banquet hall.

    No brainer.

Prime spot consuming dollars and generating minimal revenue.

  5. Nobody can afford to eat out anymore, Eric.

That would be a huge loser.

  6. Re: “Lakewood could be Inverness if they played their hand right. Property values through the roof!” \

That could only happen if the U.S. Dept. of Justice allows it to happen.

State legalization of marijuana is a violation of federal law.

“Sanctuary’ cities (relative to illegal aliens) are a violation of federal law.

In neither case is federal law being enforced.

But ask the people in Westchester County, NY what happens when you violate federal housing laws.

There are many posts available via the internet relative to the Westchester situation but here is one of the more
    current: http://www.obamazone.org/

    Here is an excerpt:

“Today’s announced new AFFH regulation marks President Obama’s most aggressive attempt yet to force his utopian ideology on American communities disguised under the banner of ‘fairness.’ This new Washington mandate has nothing to do with race, as housing discrimination has been illegal for more than 40 years,” said Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) in a statement.

“This overreaching new regulation is an attempt to extort communities into giving up control of local zoning decisions and reengineer the makeup of our neighborhoods,”

  7. Is the message relative to Westchester?

Do NOT take any money from the federal government – there are strings attached which you may not like.

Instead, contact your member of Congress to eliminate HUD!

  8. Cindy I think you should attend the opening of the new gastropub in lith on Randall. My wife and I went with several freinds to the new cary ale House and couldn’t get a seat. We waited over an hour to get a seat at Dukes the other night. Just because you don’t eat out does not mean many others won’t. This will force the crystal lake county club to step up their game too. Very mediocre faire.

  9. I’ve seen the convenance of the gates properties.

I believe there was a discrimination clause.

Maybe Cal can explain that one as be may be more familiar with it.

  10. I’m glad Mike Tryon is getting out, but I fear that Skillicorn is just another fat cat Republican sellout if he gets in.

Skillicorn is NOT a tax fighting reformer.
