Still Room to Upgrade Manufacturing Employees

Training grant for McHenry County manufacturers

McHenry County Workforce Network has received a grant from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to provide Industrial Maintenance Technician training.

The grant targets current workers with County manufacturers who need to enhance their skills in industrial maintenance. Training will include coursework in maintenance management, robotics, electronics, PLC Automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, controls and manual machining and will be provided by McHenry County College.

The grant requires a 10% match which can be met by contributing a portion of employee salary or fringe benefits.

There are still a few seats available for the training which will begin September 14, 2015 with OSHA 10-Hour Safety, and evening classes will begin in early October.
