There was interaction between South High School staff, students and local police, fire and rescue personnel.

Crystal Lake South High School staff and students served breakfast to police, fire and rescue squads on September 11th/

It was to honor and recognize the Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills Police, Fire and Rescue Squads for their service to our communities.

Some South High School students talked to their police and fire officer breakfast guests.

Breakfast was served in the cafeteria from 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Shannon Mortimer, the District 155 public relations person, wrote,

We had about 100 students help out.
Some cooked breakfast, visited with first responders.
Other welcomed them and some made treat bags for them as well.
Nearly 150 staff members participated as well.
Serving breakfast to Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills Police Officers, plus Crystal Lake and Algonquin-Lake in the Hill Fire officials on 9-11 will be an annual event.

This is the first year South has hosted this event and they plan to do it again next year.
