Gasser Speaking to Tea Party in Rockton

A press release from the Illinois Tea Party:

October 15th Northern IL Tea Party meeting features McHenry County Board Member & news of GOP candidate opposing Senator Mark Kirk

Rockton, Illinois – While at least two Democrats have shown interest in running for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Mark Kirk, until now, no Republican has dared to challenge incumbent Senator Kirk.

News of the candidacy of a businessman and Chicago southwest suburban husband and father of four is announced.

James S. Marter, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University, and has been a volunteer swim and basketball coach and involved in Boy Scout leadership for 17 years, calls Senator Kirk to task for several failings:

  • Senator Kirk’s recent NO vote against the effort to stop funding Planned Parenthood,
  • Kirk’s consistent support of gun control, which earned him an “F” rating by the NRA,
  • Kirk’s opposition to school choice,
  • Kirk’s opposition to almost every effort to significantly cut spending or balance the
  • Kirk’s distinction as the only sitting Republican senator to have voted for Cap and Trade

Petitions for the Jim Marter candidacy will be available at the 6:30 pm meeting, Thursday, October 15, at 302 W. Main St. in Rockton, the Greater Rockton Community Centre.

Speaking at the meeting will be McHenry County Board member Andrew Gasser, who ran openly as a Tea Party member for his county board seat. (They call that “transparency.”)

Andrew is a precinct committeeman, and believes it is truly the “most powerful job in the party.”

October is the month that candidates for committeeman circulate their petitions, which require 10 valid signatures [I recommend getting twenty] from the precinct.

Andrew has his own, sometimes controversial, ideas about where conservatives should be directing their energies before the 2016 elections.

The public is invited to the Northern IL Tea Party 6:30 meeting.

Doors open October 15th at 6:00 pm at the Greater Rockton Community Center, 302 W. Main Street. Email info@TeaParty-NIL.com or call 815-277-1144 for more information.

  1. Andrew, I wish only the best for you personally and politically.

It’s time to fight for the voters who need tax relief and who need legislation stopping teachers from striking.

    The games must end.
