FRG Traffic Problems

From the Fox River Grove Police Department:

There are four events in October that will impact vehicular travel in the Village.

On Saturday October 3rd, 2015 Norge Ski Club will be hosting a concert from 5 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. following a ski jump event. On Sunday October 4th, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. Norge Ski Club will be hosting a ski jumping event. Parking will be restricted around the area and expect heavy pedestrian traffic.

On Sunday October 4th, 2015 the Fox Chase 5K race will be held. The race will start at 9:00 on South River Road just north of Algonquin Road. At the start of the race, South River Road will be closed From Algonquin Road to Lincoln Ave. The race course will go past Lions Park, across Lincoln Ave at Beachway, across Algonquin Road and head in to the Foxmoor Subdivision on Lexington Ave. The race will end at Stanger Park near Algonquin Road School. There will be signage along the course to make drivers aware of the runners on the roadway. If you are interested in participating in this event go to http://www.frgrc.org/foxchase/.

On Saturday October 10th, 2015 Cary-Grove High School Homecoming Parade will be held at 9:00 A.M. The line up for the parade will be on Old Hunt Road starting at 8:00 A.M. The parade will proceed north on Algonquin Road to South River Road and end at Lions Park. Following the parade, the participants will be escorted down Beachway to Lincoln Ave and out to Northwest Highway in to Cary. Expect delays and road closures in these areas.

As a reminder, Saturday October 31st, 2015 is Halloween. The recommend trick or treat hours are 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Please be extra cautious when traveling through our neighborhoods during these times, as several children will be out.
