Dan Regna Passing Petitions for State’s Attorney

Dan Regna was seen passing petitions for the Republican nomination for State’s Attorney at Bob and Anna Miller’s wine and cheese fundraiser on Thursday night.

In 2008, Regna challenged one-term incumbent Lou Bianchi. Regna was strongly supported by Sheriff Keith Nygren and Republican County Chairman and County Treasurer Bill LeFew, plus former Gary Pack employees who were replaced by Bianchi.

Nevertheless, Bianchi won 16,288-12.435 (56.71%-43.29%). Most election observers consider getting more than 55% of the vote a landslide.

Democrats fielded Thomas Cynor, a former Chairman of the McHenry County Democratic Party, who worked as a researcher for the McHenry County Court system. Bianchi received 79,764 or 61.83% of the vote.

Bianchi, after winning two criminal cases in which he was the target, was not challenged in his re-election campaign in 2012.  (See more detail here.)

Dan Regna Passing Petitions for State’s Attorney — 12 Comments

  1. This must be an old picture of Regna; in the latest one I saw he had the letters L O S E R across his forehead.

  2. He was Nygren’s buddy too.

That in itself is enough to disqualify him.

  3. The fact that Regna would even attempt this shows poor reasoning.

He has more baggage than American Airlines and it is all damaged!!

  4. Looks like world war three is about to commence.

I hear Pyle has been given a computer so he can take on Bachmann’s “Dirty Keith” Blog.

Bachmann no doubt will back Bianchi and I hear his new Blog will be called, “Dirty Dan vs. The Honest Law Man!”

  5. Whether it’s Regna or another attourney Mr. Bianchi needs a challenger.

He was right as a wake up change from the past at the time of his first election.

He’s a nice man who sings loud in Mass.

He’s a poor administrator and exceptionally weak in his understanding of the law.

This has gotten him in trouble in the past and will continue to plague his office til he is removed.

Removal by his own hand would show better judgement than he’s shown as States Attourney to date but is not likely.

Mr. Bianchi may be shown courtesy he has failed to show others in his professional capacity but his time has passed.

  6. The fact that Regna collected signatures at the Miller fundraiser suggests at least that he is astute in politics.

Anyone feckless enough to support the Millers would be interested in Regna.

Such supporters wish to have the old, ugly, failed regime back in power.
