Probe into Chicago Police Will Cut into Political Corruption Fight

The justifiable uproar about the shooting sixteen times of a black Chicago teen by a Chicago Policeman and the suppression of the video until well after Mayor Rahm Emmanuel’s election has sucked pretty much all the air out of other stories in the Chicago media market.

Similarly, I’m guessing that the full-court by the U.S. Attorney’s Office on fairness in the Police Department will divert significant resources from the investigation of political corruption.

And, of course, since the most rampant political corruption is in Chicago, that’s where most resources will be deployed.

So, if you are wondering if suburban corruption will be left alone, my guess is that it will be.

Diverting attention from political corruption has been Emmanuel’s goal since Zach Fardon took over the Office of U.S. Attorney.

  1. Chicago residents, you got EXACTLY what you voted for.

So stop your BMWing, you’ll get no sympathy from me.

    Happy Holidays.

  2. Can they extend the investigation into the Crystal Lake and Island Lake PDs?

They’d find all sorts of targeting, corruption, and failure in leadership.

  3. Don’t be so smug, Honest Abe.

Fox Lake and other departments out here look pretty corrupt too.
