Negotiations with the SEIU Local 73 McHenry County Health Department employees have been completed.
The previous contract expired in November of 2014. Being considered by County Officials is a four-year contract.
The details, except for the estimate total cost each year follow:
Bargaining unit employees are to receive wage increases as follows:
- December 1, 2014 – 2.25%
- December 1, 2015 – 2.25%
- December 1, 2016 – 2.25%
- December 1, 2017 – 2.25%
Health insurance contributions shall be as follows:
- 1/2016 HMO – 12%/17%/17% PPO – 15%/20%/20%
- 1/2017 HMO – 15%/20%/20% PPO – 15%/20%/20%
- 1/2018 HMO – 15%/20%/20% PPO – 15%/20%/20%

Slightly generous considering the cost of living increase was lower.

Not good, seems like when the contract isn’t done timely it always costs us more.
Turn Animal control over to the private sector.
This would also eliminate the need for the Health Dept. having a Department of Veterinary Services.
