“Ineffective bureaucracy and political posturing has unfortunately contributed to the state’s prolonged budget impasse,” said State Senator Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry).

“In today’s State of the State Address, Gov. Bruce Rauner emphasized the need for bipartisan solutions that will overhaul these government inefficiencies and bring legislative leaders together to pass real structural reforms.

“While it is difficult to see progress being made, it is important to note that collaboration is happening behind the scenes between the Governor’s office, legislative leaders and state agencies to achieve these reforms.”

Althoff Reaction to Rauner’s Speech — 10 Comments

  1. If we didn’t have gerrymandering she would be out.

I wish she had a competitor.

  2. Some have said that the shape of the district was to allow State Rep. Jack Franks a place to go.

  3. She’s not all that bright. Things I’ve actually heard her say:

1.) “Honduras is located in South America.”

2.) “(Property) Taxes in McHenry County are
    lower than the national average.”

3.) “Home-schooled kids do much poorer on
    on the ACT.”

She also supports Planned Parenthood. just ask her!

  4. “oldmanwinter”

2.) “(Property) Taxes in McHenry County are
    lower than the national average.”

    She knows better.

    Could it be political meandering?

    Good possibility.

  5. She just introduced a bill today that eliminates locally elected Tax Assessors, and replaces them with County-appointed cronies who are totally unaccountable to the voters.

And she wants to do it with ZERO cost savings for the taxpayer.

What a friend Big Government has in Pam Althoff…

  6. Legislation like that would raise costs, especially if all staff came out of Woodstock.
More travel time costs more to do the same amount of work.

  7. Pam doesn’t care.

It’s only the “common people’s” tax dollars and voting rights.

    Right..?
