SPRINGFIELD, January 27, 2015 – Dan McConchie, candidate for Illinois State Senate in the 26th District, praised Governor Rauner’s proposals outlined in his 2016 State of the State address given before the legislature today and encouraged Democrats in the legislature to come to the table and negotiate with the Governor and Republicans.

“It is refreshing to hear the Governor passionately lay out the need for fundamental reform,” stated Dan McConchie.

“He outlined concrete proposals for pension reform, education reform, property tax relief and improvements to the way Illinois delivers services.

“He put specific plans and numbers on the table that can save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

“These are common sense solutions that should have broad support as we face our fiscal crisis together.”

McConchie continued:

“The Governor is providing real leadership by demonstrating a willingness to work out real solutions.

“There’s plenty of room for common ground.

“What’s needed at this point is for Democrats to sit down and negotiate these pressing issues in good faith.

“It’s time to for us to come together to create stability and opportunity for families and businesses in our state.”

Dan McConchie Praises Rauner Speech — 5 Comments

  1. He’ll be taking Senator Dan Duffy’s place and he’s another reformer ready and willing to work with Governor Rauner to reform Illinois.

    McConchie is the peoples advocate!

  2. Rauner’s own plan called for more spending than revenue available, he isn’t a hero yet!

When politicians speak in generalities, and play follow the leader, I get concerned if they aren’t just as self serving as who they are replacing.

  3. McConchie is a Springfield lobbyist and political insider.

There is only one candidate qualified for this seat and that is Marty McLaughlin who lives in McHenry County.

  4. Lobbyists “dance with the guys that brung them” and are paid by special interests and, sometimes, with your tax money.

Marty McLaughlin’s qualifications far exceed those of the other candidates, will not be subsidized or influenced by special interests, political or otherwise.

We need Marty McLauglin in the State Senate.

  5. Right on Tracker 3,

One only has to look at the cost cutting work he has done as President of Village of Barrington Hills including pension contribution by taking on the municipal unions.

Mary is a pension expert who both qualitativley and quantitatively understands the pension crises in Illinois.

While not an original supporter of Mary in VBH, his actions have made a believer out of me.

Marty will not be a cheerleader for Rauner but will help Rauner through the weeds of pension law and mathmatics which is a very difficult and specialized area.
