Message of the Day – A Sign

Political signs are popping up, so I thought I’d run one a day when I have the chance.

Here’s one that promotes the two conservative women running for McHenry County Board in District 6:

Ersel Schuster

Kelly Liebmann

Ersel Schuster and Kelly Liebmann have joined to produce this "Stop Taxing to the Max" sign.

  1. Please consider that Kelly said she won’t take the pension and Ersel said she will…

Fiscally conservative unless it’s to serve yourself is NOT the way to do things.

  2. Oh please.

    It’s a full-time job.

I’d rather pay pension for a county board member that will devote the hours/research/conservative voting record than someone with a full-time job who can’t put in the time required.

  3. I think ALL county pensions need to be abolished.

We need a Board who approves this. One by one we weed them out.

We as tax paying voting citizens are compelled to do the right thing with our vote and our efforts to help people get elected.

  4. “I think ALL county pensions need to be abolished.”

It’s not unreasonable to expect that if you serve as a patrol deputy for 30 years that part of your compensation should include a retirement.

I favor IRA and 401(k) plans over pensions, but I can see the appeal of having a pension (don’t have to carve the liability out of your budget now and can kick the can down the road).

  5. County Board members serve themselves more than us.

Abolish the pensions for board members and we’ll get people who want to help tax payers

  6. But if you’re already on the board and already been promised a pension then we should honor that.

    But no more

  7. What if we just stop paying anything? Salary, pensio, insurance… forget it.

Of course we can then deal with ONLY the independently wealthy in government but, in the immortal words of Hilary Clinton,

    “What difference does it make?”

  8. What a pair.

One totally lacking in experience and knowledge.

The other lacks any like able or admirable qualities but labors under the illusion that she knows what’s best for McHenry County.

Thank heaven the voters know better.

  9. Re: Watcher1940 and “Thank heaven the voters know better.”

    Really?

What rock have you been living under for the past year?

The voters put in a useless human to replace Schuster.

He appears to not even read the meeting packets (committee and board), never asks questions and simply votes with the flow.

We need Board members who are willing to represent We The People, not members who can easily be TOLD how to vote!

We ended up with the current pension mess in this state because of the voters.

Voters who are not willing to do ANY research before voting but simply vote based on minimal information or none and tend to vote based on a #@*! sign they saw outside the precinct!

  10. Cautious voter sounds like you’d like to take away those useless voter rights.

Thankfully we’re still able to voice our opinions at the ballot box.

I, too, have observed Shuster in office and would choose not to be represented by someone with her narrow minded, old fashioned way of thinking.

Liebman is an unknown quantity but her comments certainly don’t reflect any intelligence.

These are just my opinions…as you have expressed yours.

  11. Watcher1940,
You Waltz from the question above, who are your picks for the area?
