  1. Marty McLaughlin has done wonders for Barrington Hills in just three short years.

He changed the status quo and started running the village like a business.

The tax levy has been reduced from 6.65M to 6.18M, and the village has been spending less every year he’s been in office, reducing the burden on taxpayers.

He settled several contentious legal issues that the village had been embroiled in for years before he took over.

I hope many McHenry County Blog readers take the time to attend the LWV Candidate Forum tomorrow night to hear for themselves how this outstanding leader and true fiscal conservative plans to tackle the problems in Springfield.

  2. Marty McLaughlin accomplished all that Raven has stated, and more.

The police pension was resolved, thanks to Marty’s extraordinary background in pensions and his ability to bring both sides to the table.

Many of Marty’s successes occurred in an extremely hostile environment; he most certainly will not be intimidated by the Springfield regulars.

Who is better armed than Marty McLaughlin to take such skills to Springfield?

After hearing Marty on Thursday night and reviewing his credentials, you’ll be hard pressed to dispute his qualifcations as the next State Senator from the 26th District.

I hope you get a chance to meet Marty.

  3. As a senior citizen and a resident of Barrington Hills, this candidate’s overwhelming resume and credentials make him the clear choice to be State Senator for the 26th district.

I know the man, he’s not a politician.

His extensive financial resume will assist Governor Rauner to get the state back on sound financial footing.

Additionally, he wants to help seniors live more affordably in their own state.

Hands down he’s got my vote!

  4. As a single woman raising a couple of kids, and reading about Marty McLaughlin who has a family of five daughters… I finally feel that someone understands my struggles.

If he can find a way for people like me to raise their kids, send them to college, and make Illinois more affordable, for us to stay here and retire.

Then, I think we owe it to our children to elect someone like McLaughlin.

We should want more from our representatives than just soundbites!

  5. I’m a business owner whose frankly tired of the tax burdens that the state has imposed on those of us who basically run and support the Illinois economy.

I truly think if we can stop over regulation and excessive taxation on businesses as Marty McLaughlin proposes, it will stimulate the growth in the business sector.

I’m also in favor of his ideas to make Illinois a more inviting place for business to grow and thrive.

I agree with candidate McLaughlin, Springfield’s legislators have failed us, I think a common sense fellow with a business background is the logical answer to a complex problem.

  6. I’m a simple guy from the suburbs, and it seems to me if this guy McLaughin can raise FIVE daughters by himself without asking Springfield for a bailout, then why not send him to Springfield.

God knows we could use more people like him!

  7. Martin is experienced and knowledgeable financially – our state is going down the drain and we need a numbers guy, not a single issue lobbyist.

Martin has turned our village around, cutting taxes and spending, strengthening our police force (once, under the old mayor and his cronies, I waited almost 15 minutes hiding in my closet home alone for a police car to show up. the station is right DOWN THE STREET from me).

Martin is not a politician and not a pawn of the establishment.

He unseated our past president by a landslide margin even after being outspent 5-1.

He didn’t sell his soul for 40 pcs of silver to the superpacs that are trying to make up stories and smear his name because they know he’s way more qualified than their lobbyist.

He’s running this race for the good of the communities he wants to serve despite establishment bullies threatening to continue unfounded attacks.

He’s not easily ruffled and he keeps a pretty good sense of humor about it all.

Martin is a family man, raising his 5 daughters with his smart and sweet wife who is also a business woman.

He understands whats needed to be done in terms of our kids education, their safety and well being.

Martin is a role model to his kids and to us all because he is against sinking down to the level of his opponents smear campaigns, which are funded by the very same people in superpacs that happen to also recently plunk over HALF A MILLION DOLLARS into TWO DEMOCRATS warchests.

We need someone to help Governor Rauner get this state in the right direction again.

Someone, like Rauner who isn’t afraid to be logical, practical, outspoken and committed to make a positive and conservative change to Springfield.

    Vote Martin McLaughlin.
