The fake Republican that Democrats put up in an attempt to spare State Rep. Jack Franks a real contest in his tenth run for the office–Jeff Lichte–again failed to attend a public event.

Lichte has never appeared in public.

Oh, he sent a statement to be read at the League of Women Voters Forum.

And someone wrote answers for him to the Northwest Herald questionnaire.

But the candidate himself hasn’t even been represented by a cardboard cutout.

If Steve Reick not filed and the House Republican Organization not defended his petitions when they were challenged by a Jack Franks fundraising Host Committee member Franks would have been just like Mike Madigan–facing a sham opponent running as a Republican.

Had the Democrats been successful, Franks would have cruised to a tenth victory, thus ensuring the Marengo man a maximum legislative pension–85% of his last salary.

  1. The 63rd State Representative Republican candidate Jeffery Lichte in the March 15, 2016 primary election that has voted Democrat in the past, has a Democrat campaign sign on his lawn as seen through Google maps, has no campaign website, and has no campaign literature.

Just statements sent to the League of Women’s Voter forum held February 4th, 2016 at McHenry County College and to the Northwest Herald.

Mr. Lichte’s statement to the League of Women’s voter included this gem.

“I’m the only Republican who can win in November.”

  2. typo…had a Democrat campaign sign on his lawn as seen through Google maps

The Google maps picture was taken some time ago.

In fact the campaign sign was of Democrat Jack Franks.

Now Mr. Lichte is running as a Republican who if he prevails in the primary election would face Jack Franks in the November 8, 2016 General Election.

  3. Oh my, no show Jack???

    What a surprise.

Mark, if Lichte should win, then expect Jack to find a reason to step down.

  4. 85% for state reps?

    80% for schools?

Even 75% for IMRF is kind of high.

Reduce all those to 70% and graduate all the pensions down in comparison would be a big help.

  5. **Had the Democrats been successful, Franks would have cruised to a tenth victory**

Pretty sure that he still will cruise to victory.
