Former Congressman and WIND Radio Talk Show Host and State Rep. candidate Paul Serwatka are parting ways.

“In recent months I have come to learn that perhaps our principles, convictions and motives are not as in alignment as I believed them to be, so I believe it’s best that I continue my efforts independent of Joe and the Walsh Freedom organization,” Serwatka said.

“Regrettably, I can no longer endorse Paul Serwatka for State Rep in the 66th District. He is no longer a Walshfreedom endorsed candidate. We just couldn’t work together. I wish Paul all the best,” Walsh said.

Serwatka and Walsh Part Ways — 24 Comments

  1. Wow, Paul is imploooooooooding.

Maybe his ego finally got so large that it collapsed in on itself into a singularity.

Be careful Serwatka lackeys that you don’t get sucked into the black hole, too.

Once you slip past the “I guess it makes sense that a candidate who rails against public pensions is on one” stupidity event horizon, there’s no escape.

  2. rawdogger, you seem to have a reading disability. P

aul has never, once, “railed against public pensions” as you say.

You continually refer to his stating the need for 401k type retirement benefits for new public employees.

That is not railing against those who’ve earned pensions, it’s merely acknowledging that the trough is empty.

Paul is right on the money with this.

    Would you prefer the alternative?

That all pensoners are simply robbed of their current pensions or are instead given a fraction of what they were promised?

It may be an ugly picture.

    But, it’s coming.

    By hook or by crook.

No need to kill the messenger.

  3. “Would you prefer the alternative?

That all pensoners are simply robbed of their current pensions or are instead given a fraction of what they were promised?”

If a bank robber puts a gun to a banker’s head and the banker promises to give him the contents of the vault, we’re under no ethical obligation to make good on the promise.

When garbage men, teachers, and other public employees threaten to shut a city down unless their demands are met, do we have an ethical obligation to honor the promises we made?

The difference between the two scenarios is only the level of duress you’re under.

Paul is fully capable of supporting himself.

It is shameful that he’ll be on the dole for the rest of his life.

  4. Good decision Paul and about time.

Joe Walsh, Dan Proft and Dan Duffy represent everything wrong with politics in McHenry County and Illinois for that matter.

Their coronation of certain people and bullying tactics without vetting all candidates for office is designed to serve them and not us often keeping best qualified candidates from competing for elected office because of the treasure they can hand them.

One only has to look to the Illinois Senate Race for 26th District between McLaughlin, McConchie and Urlacher where Walsh, Proft et al have coronated less qualified Springfield single issue lobbyist McConchie instead of considering pension expert, businessman and VBH President, Martin McLaughlin or Casey Urlacher for that matter.

They coronated McChonchie before they knew who was running in the race.

This is not about Illinois but about them and their further concentration of power using stooges like knowledge voter . .

Their tenacles reach so far into McHenry County that Republican Headquarters in McHenry County had 3 signs for McConchie on its window and none for McLaughlin.

Perhaps Christine Meyer and Chris Yeager who I understand run that office and are Joe Walsh disciples would like comment in this regard.

There is also the issue where McConchie was permitted to speak with Walsh at the Algonqin charity event but not McLaughlin who was not even invited.

This blog went so far to discredit McLaughlin as to allow the Dark Prince of Barrington Hills (Robt. Abboud) to post one of his nonsensicle missives full of obvious misrepresentations about McLaughlin’s record in VBH as a veiled attempt by the author of this blog to give the coronated candidate McConchie an advantage.

Notice nothing about McConchie challenging his record or resume, because they are keeping it secret.

Notice, this blog has never posted the business background/work experience, resume or record of McConchie because it would doom his candidacy.

At the woman’s league forum which should have been the headline of a blog McConchie without being pressed further by the moderater stated he was a “policy maker” with saying anything else.

That shoold have been the content of a blog along with what McLaughln said about his experience.

Hell, I knew more about Barack O’Bama’s prior work experience when he ran for office than I know about Dan McConchie.

Where are all the “conservative” McHenry County hawks on this issue, how about it Knowledge Voter a/k/a Andrew Gasser.

You carry signs for McConchie because Joe told you too yet you have no knowledge of who McConchie is, or do you but choose not to share it?

How about it Cal, how about posting the resume of the candidates in this race for 26th District IL Senate rather than attempt to discredit one candidate for sake of another which has been done twice now by posting half truths and featuring discredited “has been” politician Robt Abboud who only has an ax to grind because he has been rendered obsolete put on the political trash heap of VBH history.

How about a blog of what McConchie has done as a “policy maker” and how it has benefitted the residents of 26th district or residents of Illinois.

THE SILENCE ON MCCONCHIE AND HIS EDUCATION< WORK EXPERIENCE AND LIFE ACHIEVEMENTS IS DEAFENING!

This blog posted an account of 26th district forum before woman's league of voters providing a partial unflattering response to McLaughlins answer concerning LMP at Route 62 which runs through VBH. Not the complete answer which might have made him more favorable in the eyes of your readers.

Of course, this blog failed to mention McConchie had no knowledge what the LMP was and where Route 62 is located.

This is because he is a Springfield lobbyst who Walsh, Duffy and Proft have use for; don't you people see it?

Folks, don't you see what is happening in our County, THE NEW BOSS IS THE SAME AS THE OLD BOSS!

I am pleased Paul has finally figured this out and is separating himself from the political poison infecting us with each race.

We, the people, need to rid this county of team politics and find independent, experienced and qualified candidates who have a vision and plan to re-define government to meet these desparate legal times.

Not drones coronated by political pacs, retiring failed politicians or talk radio loud mouths!

Where's the beef when it comes to McChonchie?

  5. rawdogger, i saw your comment the other day as well “no matter how horribly mangled your body is, you should not receive a lifetime income if you are fully capable of supporting yourself after the injury.”

I can only say that you know not, what you speak of and that I vehemently disagree with your view on this.

  6. What do you know? Are you his personal physician?

Do you have anything to base your opinion on other than a politician’s word?

  7. Folks, were you aware Dan McConchie refused to submit his profession or job title on the Daily Herald questionnaire and during the live Daily Herald candidate interview session, Dan McConchie failed to opine on his job title even after being questioned multiple times by editorial staff at the Daily Herald.

During the Daily Herald interview, Dan McConchie disavowed his own Linkedin Profile twice which describes him as a lobbyst until he was confronted with proof of this profile through a xerox screen shot.

Upon review of the screen shot its said “Dan is a Professional in loggying” but still Dan McChonchie contended “lobbying” and “lobbyst” does not define his job even in the face of his own LinkedIn Profile; insteady saying that it was created sometime ago when in fact the profile update confirmed it was only a few months old.

Trying to skirt the issue, and after repeated denials, upon final question, “Did you write your own Linkin Profile”? After further exhausting exchange Dan McConchie finally capitulated and confessed he himself wrote his own LinkedIn Profile by only saying “Yes” and nothing more.

A lie perhaps; Clintonesque definately! Don’t McHenry County “Conservatives” deserve more from a Proft candidate?

Cal, why don’t you post all of the candidates answers to the Daily Herald questionaire so your readers can see for themselves McChonchie’s attempt to hide what he does for a living.

I challenge readers to go Daily Herald website to see for themselves the “obfuscation” by Proft’s coronated candidate.

  8. If anyone is “imploooooooooding” it would appear to be rawdogger (whoever he / she is).

Based on his / her comments, our wounded veterans are NOT entitled to receive any lifetime benefits.

Based on his / her comments, he would fit in well with the current administration in D.C.

  9. Illinois voters…the Kingmakers of McHenry politics constantly need their egos stroked.

Hey, and what qualifies the radio-wave screamers the right to push a candidate?

Their meddling of the musical chairs is what has made Illinois politics a joke.

McConchie was going to be a shoe-in for State Rep in District 51 last summer.

Big kick off party and even a web-site set up.

Ooops, until Nick Sauer piped up that it was “His Turn” and claimed the seat.

Along comes Duffy who does a “eeny, meeny, miny, moe” and makes his pick.

Since when does a public servant get to pick his replacement in this county?

Look at the fine print folks. McConchie is a lackey lobbyist.

Use your ears, eyes and common sense for your vote.

We need help in Illinois and not the status quo of the egomaniacs.

  10. When I read that Serwatka and Walsh were “parting ways”, I wondered who is luckier?

Sad that newly recruited precinct committeemen may have been brainwashed for McConchey, before the facts were in.

It’s not too late ladies and gentlemen to check the facts and make your own, independent recommendations.

  11. Hey David – It is funny how much you trash McHenry after you couldn’t even win your McHenry County Board race.

You don’t do yourself or your candidate any favors by coming on this blog to complain about everyone.

  12. Dave Stieper, that office is a McHenry County Party office, not Algonquin Township, therefore, neither I nor Christina have anything to do with running the office.

It is there for us to use, we did not put any signs in the windows, prior to McLaughlin asking me if I would place one of his in the window.

I took down 1 of the only 2, not 3 McConchie signs and replace it with a McLaughlin sign.

It must be nice to cry from the cheap seats on the sidelines, without ever getting out to do anything yourself.

  13. I am very glad to see that Joe Walsh has pulled his endorsement from Paul Serwatka.

Serwatka doesn’t have the maturity, the discipline, or integrity to be a State Rep.

He has consistently missed editorial board interviews, not shown up to important events, and seems to be more interested in getting pictures with Judge Napolitano than in getting out and meeting the people of the district.

I even heard that he didn’t show up to his own precinct walks.

The guy can’t even show up for his own race.

Why does anyone think he will show up for the voters in Springfield?

  14. Paul renounced the Walsh endorsement.

It wasn’t “pulled” as you say, “Tom”.

  15. What is there to be sorry for, you just admitted 2 signs for McChonchie and 0 for McLaughlin.

I think McLaughlin is owed the apology.

I am getting involved, I am calling out what I perceive as blatant favoritism by those who are supposed to be neutral to Republican Candidates, including this blog.

As far as getting involved, I am very involved in getting the most qualified man elected to IL State Senate Martin McLaughlin.

Just because you do not see me “pounding in signs”, “Walking with Walsh” or a “spectator to Walsh’ phoney angry rants”, doesn’t mean I am not involved.

Chris, the party has to play it straight and you know but for the pushback from me, this has been anything but straight in McHenry County when it comes to the treatment of McLaughlin.

Glad to see you corrected an admitted wrong by whom ever.

  16. We are all volunteers whether in party leadership or not.

And, as Precinct Committeemen are allowed to support whomever we would like. I personally support Dan McConchie because he is the most conservative and most trustworthy candidate in this race. I know where he stands because he has been fighting the good fight in this state for a long time. I support him because I did my homework, not because Walsh or anyone else told me to.

I don’t have anything against McLaughlin and tried hard to go out of my way to make things “fair” for him despite being consistently disrespected by people like David Steiper who work for his campaign.

  17. David, this is Cal’s blog, he can be as bias as he wants, ya know freedom of speech.

Is this site bias, you bet.

    Just saying.

  18. “In recent months I have come to learn that perhaps our principles, convictions and motives are not as in alignment as I believed them to be, so I believe it’s best that I continue my efforts independent of Joe and the Walsh Freedom organization,”

I wonder what he meant by that.

I would love to hear more.

  19. A) Stieper you are a child- take your ball and go home – stop crying

    B) Dan McConchie has been to Springfield once as a tourist.

How do I know this you ask?

He told me when I was doing my research on who I wanted to vote for.

You want the people of IL to vote for a pension fund manager that supports unions?

Yeah because that will just fix everything – we are so short handed on people that have ideas on how to fix things.

    B) DeDe?

You have to be kidding me right?

Nick Sauer showed up to claim the rep spot?

You mean the putz that’s endorsed by the current putz and rep – the same rep that flip flopped on gay marriage and changed his convictions overnight?

The same rep that is retiring so he can go be a lobbyist for gays?

    C) it’s amusing to see a candidates supporters destroy any chance they had at a successful campaign.

  20. Wow after reading this blog I now know for a fact that McHenry County is sunk!

Proft has everyone under his spell he is Not a Republican but a Chicago Democrat parading as one since his corrupt days in Cicero.

Doesn’t take an Einstein but common sense people.
