Steve Reick
The Northwest Herald endorsed Steve Reick over his dummy Republican opponent Jeff Lichte.
For some reason the NWH has not run a story on how the Democrats tried to free up Democrat Jack Franks from real opposition this fall by filing Jeff Litche, enough of a Franks supporter to be on his “Host Committee” for last fall’s low-end fundraiser.
Nothing about Lichte having a Jack Franks yard sign in front of his house when Google took a photo of it in the fall of 2014.
Not a word about Lichte’s only voting in Democratic Party primaries.
The story is ready made for a tabloid newspaper.
But, Lichte was criticized by the Editorial Board for
- skipping the League of Women Voters candidates’ forum
- skipping the NWH’s candidate interview session
- writing letters to the editor on behalf of Franks
“There are too many questions that have gone unanswered regarding Lichte’s legitimacy in this race.”

The choice of getting true and fair representation is before us.
I hope we can send a good man to Springfield on our behalf.

In a some of the upcoming races, I am going to have to decide which candidate is less bad and hold my nose while I cast my vote.
That won’t be the case in this race.
It will be a pleasure to vote for Mr Reick.
