  1. More hope & change political B.S.

A property tax freeze won’t help if people can’t afford
their PT now, so why would or should anyone stay ?

Smart people realize that Illinois’ fiscal dilemma will
not be solved in our lifetime as we are too deep in debt already with no end in sight to Springfield’s tax and spend insanity.

Therefore, The Great Exodus will continue unabated.

  2. Just like the County froze its property tax but the majority on the Board continue to approve wage increases .

Then, members of that majority have the audacity to call those who vote against wage increases divisive (Skala)and describe them as the inept minority (Gottemiller).

  3. Whoops!

Freudian slip – combined miller and gottemoller.

  4. In a letter to the Herald today a reader calls out the fact that he raised taxes in Barrington Hills.

  5. 15 years after the migration begins, an Illinois Pol acknowledges its a problem.

  6. Woodstock Il.

Property tax rate 4.6% of total home value.

Percentage of Household Income taken from median income (half of all) households living in median value homes:
    over 12%.

National average Percentage of Household Income spent on property taxes: 3.6%

Additional 8% of household income needs to be diverted to pay property taxes, and thus is not available for spending on:
    child’s college fund
    personal retirement savings
    pets
    Christmas and birthday gifts
school extracurricular events like sports participation.

Woodstock D200 School Board, the authors of this crisis, will not acknowledge there is a crisis and refuse to cut spending or hiring.

The only way Woodstock (non-D200–employees) citizens will survive is through a
    Property Tax RATE Cap.

  7. The reader is the man he defeated in the election.

A fuller version of Bob Abboud’s comments were published her a while ago.

  8. I believe the focus of this mailer to demonstrate and personal sensitivity regarding the real and troublesome issue of increasing property taxes.

I applaud candidates for showcasing the seriousness nature of an issue without personalizing it or demeaning other candidates.

If voters really want demonstrated changes, they need to get behind McLaughlin and support this, if we don’t we can expect more of the same.

When you head to the polls, if you don’t believe that you will see change, but think about your children’s generation. It’s so important.

  9. This is why we don’t vote for anyone getting campaign funds from Unions, period.
