Proft Sends Anti-Schofield Post Card

Picking up on the criticism that was levied by the Northwest Herald on McHenry County Board member Carolyn Schofield’s handing of the Township Consolidation Task Force, Dan Proft’s Liberty Principles Political Action Committee has mailed a post card urging voters to

“Vote NO on Carolyn Schofield”

He also points out that “her backers” support “increasing your state income tax by 31%.”

The attack piece from Liberty Principles PAC calls Carolyn Schofield out for her role in the Township Consolidation Task Force she chaired.

I presume those supporters are the teachers union which has endorsed Schofield and contributed the maximum allowed by law–$53,900.

Proft also takes what the Daily Herald thought of as a positive when its editorial board endorses Schofield and turns it into a negative:

“(Schofield) vows to find a way to find common ground with Democrats.”

The back of the anti-Carolyn Schofield piece tries to tie her to her supporters who want a 31% income tax increase.

“Finding ‘Common Ground’ with Democrats to raise your income tax?” the mailing asks.

Proft’s PAC is supporting Allen Skillicorn.

His name is not mentioned in the mailing.

  1. Allen Skillicorn is the best candidate Proft’s Mega-PAC money can buy –

  2. What a joke.

When a candidate stoops to the low levels like this what does that tell you ?

They can’t run on their own merits and need to create a negative campaign.

If you can’t win on your own qualifications then don’t run.

Allen has stooped to a new low and someone would have to be just as low to vote for him.

    Embarrassing politics at its best.

  3. After seeing more of Liberty Principle’s heavy-handed tactics in both this race, and the McLaughlin-McConchie matchup in the 26th Senate race, I’ve lost all respect for Dan Proft.

Sending out half-truths and distortions doesn’t make his candidates look any better, it just makes them look desperate.

Proft’s candidates have weak resume’s and apparently the only way he thinks he can give them a leg up is to throw mud at his opponents.

Sorry, but Republican primary voters are smarter than that.

Take your dirty Chicago politics back to Lake Shore Drive Dan Proft!

  4. Just speaking of the Consolidation effort, the NWH and Profit lack common sense and are bias.

It wasn’t Scholfield’s JOB to make that effort work, that was the JOB of the people proposing the change.

It was her JOB to report to the board on what was proposed, a mess, and a tax increase.

  5. Agree with the comments about Dan Proft’s “heavy-handed” tactics.

However, don’t let the blur the issue that Carolyn Schofield would be the worst possible choice for voters to make, as her accomplishments are nil and her supporters are ALL tax and spenders whose positions she will mimic.
