Schofield Quotes Others on Her Experience

Here’s another post card from Carolyn Schofield’s campaign.

She says she is “supported by business leaders because she’ll grow jobs.”

RTA Board member Blake Hobson, a manufacturer, praises her.

The address of Carolyn Schofield's "grow jobs" mailing.

On the back, Schofield points to her newspaper endorsement from the Daily Herald.

Ironically, she prints the same line that was used by Dan Proft’s Liberty Principles PAC negative piece:

“…a proven ability to bring opposing sides to the table in city and county government…”

Carolyn Schofield's post card says she is "endorsed for her proven experience."

Schofield Quotes Others on Her Experience — 13 Comments

  1. I wish ALL politicians would quit saying they can create jobs.

    The government CANNOT create jobs!

    Period.

    End of story!

If the government gives subsidies, they may pick up an employer here and there, but only at the cost of even more jobs elsewhere.

If that were NOT true, then socialism would work, and we know that’s not the case.

And not to put to fine a point on it, but our own federal, state and local governments have a terrible track record of picking winners and losers.

For a prime example, look at Motorola in Harvard.

The only thing the government CAN do is to create fertile ground for economic growth and then get out of the way.

They can provide fertile ground by

    (a) providing strong protection of property rights (done at the federal level more than 200 years ago);

    (b) providing adequate infrastructure (roads, power, water, and sewerage; also done a long time ago around here); and

    (c) providing an educated workforce (done by our local schools, which do a good job but at a higher cost than many other school districts that obtain essentially identical results).

Other than that, there is only one more thing government can do to create jobs LOCALLY, and that is to reduce the tax burden FOR ALL BUSINESSES to a level lower than businesses can obtain elsewhere, especially close by.

    So, to all politicians:

when you say you can create jobs, you’re lying.

    Stop it!

  2. The fact that Ms. Schofield parrots what someone else has said merely confirms what we already know, and that is she hasn’t an original idea of her own.

This, in itself, is probably why certain known political figures are endorsing her.

So they can give her their prepared script, should we have the grave misfortune of her going to Springfield.

As far as “proven ability” and “proven experience”, she has proven nothing but that she is incapable of even the smallest tasks assigned to her., e.g. township consolidation and hearings and her lack of meaningful contribution to issues that come before the County Board.

PLEASE WORK HARD TO MAKE CERTAIN IT’S ANYONE BUT SCHOFIELD IN THAT DISTRICT.

  3. How can any politician claim they create jobs with respect to their elected office?

The most any elected official can do in this aspect is to create an economic environment through which the private sector can create jobs.

If politicians are creating jobs then that means we are growing the government.

  4. Perhaps splitting hairs here…

The piece does’t say she will create jobs…it says she will grow jobs…and that could be interpreted as exactly what Steve and Andrew are saying…

Schofield will create an economic environment where jobs can be created by the private sector and grow.

  5. Well put Ted. You are correct.

And Optionsopen, I’m not even sure I understand what you said.

    Parrotting others???

No clue what you mean by that one.

Schofield is quoting herself is supporting by many others.

Quoting people that support you is wrong??

    Hmmmm.

She is clearly the most backed candidate here so what’s wrong with using good things people say about her?

I have also not seen any negative campaigning from her unlike Allen who has become a Jerry Springer show.

  6. Sandra and Allen taking big Pac $$$$s isn’t a good thing, it’s like being owned by outsiders.

Perhaps voting for one of the other two would be more logical.

  7. Saying something that can’t be done?

You mean like saying you can abolish the recorders office.

Or taking credit for things that were the result of a 6-0 vote in Lakewood.

It is harder to find a campaign that is telling the truth.

  8. Inish, 82 of Illinois’ 101 counties DO NOT have an elected Recorder.

Recording deeds is not that complicated a task, and the County Clerk is already keeping all the other County records.

And other counties have abolished the office.

So, yes, the office CAN be abolished.

  9. I agree with Gasser & Willson, Carolyn Schofield makes the most nonsensical, and just plain untruthful claims in her literature.

I mean, really, if you are a politician who is creating jobs then you must be a Democrat, because the only place politicians can create jobs is by growing government.

The reality is that the only people who create jobs are people who own companies. It is private industry where job creation occurs.

Carolyn Schofield will say anything to get elected, or she is just too dumb to know that only private industry creates jobs..scary to think of what she might do once she is actually in office.

I am glad Allen Skillicorn is calling her out.

Her crazy talk is plain nutty!

  10. The mailing came from Dan Proft’s Liberty Principles PAC, not from Allen Skillicorn.

  11. Steve Willson 82 of Illinois’ 101 counties DO NOT have an elected Recorder.

Recording deeds is not that complicated a task, and the County Clerk is already keeping all the other County records.

And other counties have abolished the office.

So, yes, the office CAN be abolished.

Things can always be done but saving millions and millions of dollars is misleading the voters
McLean has estimate a saving of less then 100000.00 dollar not 10 millions in thirty years Like you folks think

Three Counties have eliminated Recorders office Adams Tazewell And Mclean

Facts We need to stop misleading the voter!

    Lets Have some facts ___

Counties are smaller Crystal Lake ??
