A Cary Citizen’s Lament

A Cary resident named Pamala offers this comment under the precinct letter from Committeeman candidate Jim Cosler:

I am truly conflicted right now.

I have been friends with the Miller family for many years.

They are nice people.

I also voted for Jim in his election.

When I received this letter it was exactly the opposite of who Bob told me to vote for.

We as a family have made the decision to take down the signs for Mr. Wilbeck and Ms. Barnes and my husband refuses to allow any more signs including Anna May’s and Daves.

The pressure my family has been put through the last few days has been horrible.

The facebook drama from Christina Anderson and the personal phone calls telling me about certain people really bothers my husband, my friends, and myself.

The gossip in the Cary Mom’s group is like nothing I have seen before.

Thank you Jim for giving your honest opinion on these races.

I continue to be friends with Bob, Anna May, Rebecca, and Christina but I just cannot condone this kind of behavior.

I really hope the Cary-Connection facebook group says something about this.

I know I feel really uncomfortable now about our local government.

I always vote but looking back I may have neglected some of the local races.

Thank you,
Pamala C

A Cary Citizen’s Lament — 10 Comments

  1. Why on earth would one person have two diabolically different political groups signs in their yard!?!

    FORGET FRIENDSHIP!

Barnes & Wilbeck are Conservative/hard working, while the Millers are money grubbers laughing all the way to the bank on the taxpayers.

WAKE UP CARY!, ALGONQUIN!, DIST 1,… and McHENRY COUNTY IN GENERAL!

  2. Excuse me Pam C but you have an obligation to learn the truth about anyone running for office.

You should not be voting for “friends” but for the best person to do the job..

You owe this to your community and your neighbors.

When you don’t find out the truth you hurt everyone in your community.

    Grow up and learn.

    My goodness already.

  3. For Pamela

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

    Edmund Burke

  4. I forgot to mention, Pam, we’re behind you, admire your courage and understand you’ve had enough and respect you for calling out bad behavior, thank you!

  5. I am deeply moved by this letter.

Pamela, you are the answer to prayer of many politically aware and active people.

    You are experiencing an awakening.

Many of us refer to this as dropping out of the Matrix.

As you awaken please know many will press you, woo you, attack you but will mostly become aware of you.

The worst person in the world for elected officials is a person who is awake and questioning.

They want you asleep and trusting.

    Welcome to the Real World.

It’s messy, sometimes horrifying and always interesting.

You cannot choose wrong if you do your research and vote according to a strict set of principles you believe are important.

You’ll find no one totally fulfills your list but many fill most of your requirements.

Then watch your politicians and hold them accountable through communication and your educated vote.

    You are very exciting.

We welcome you to the ranks of Citizen.

  6. Pam,

    If the Millers ever see your letter, then they’ll mark you and your husband as E N E M I E S No. 1,234 & 1,235.

It’s a one-way street w/ the Millers ….. you’re either their puppet voting ‘friends’ or you’re enemies to put on their lists.

Has your property been assessed at a lower rate via your ‘friendship’ w/ these cobras?

  7. Pam, you should always use your INTELLECT to choose a candidate worthy of your vote, NOT your emotions.

    Problem solved.

  8. I think I have to stop reading this blog until after the election.

She’s telling how the nasty behavior is getting to her and everyone responds with more nastiness, with the exception of Priest.

Pam, if you think that Algonquin Township does a good job then you’ll want to keep them around and as a mom of adult children I would advise you to never belong to or listen to a mom’s group, it’s like JR High all over again.
