Gasser Writes Constituents about Election

This letter from McHenry County Board member Andrew Gasser was sent to 3,900 addresses:

Mr. Andrew Gasser
112 Grove Ave, Fox River Grove
McHenry County Board District 1

Friends, Neighbors, and Constituents,

I am writing you to tell you about the upcoming election this Tuesday, March 15th. We have enormous
decisions to make that will impact us all here locally. We can dramatically change the direction of our county this Tuesday. THIS IS A POSITIVE LETTER!

How many of you are sick and tired of the
political correctness that infiltrates our elections?

When you elected me I promised I would not take the politician healthcare plan, the politician pension, and I would term limit myself. I have kept my promises to you. I do not say these things to promote myself but because you expect me to tell it to you like it is – FULL TRANSPARENCY. We need to end the unethical practices of nepotism and patronage. We have to stop it.

If you do not vote March 15th we will continue with these practices.

DEMETRI TSILIMIGRAS FOR JUDGE – www.demetri4judge.com

We have a chance to elect a new judge in McHenry County and his name is DEMETRI TSLIMINGRAS. I am voting for Demetri because he is eminently qualified for judge. We have not had a contested judge’s race in McHenry County in a very long time. Demetri has the demeanor and the integrity to sit on the bench. Demetri has both civil and criminal experience as well as private and public sector experience.

I hope we all can agree that we should not elect people because their grandfather was a judge, and then their father was a judge, and now it is “his turn”. This is what the establishment party bosses are asking us to embrace. Your “Good Family Name” should not be tantamount to being seated on the bench. This is the mentality that has permeated McHenry County over the last 60 years.

Demetri will not be beholden to anyone; will follow the Constitution, and the rule of all. We need him as the

JOE TIRIO FOR RECORDER – www.iwonthiremywife.com

Joe Tirio wants to eliminate the recorder’s office. This is not a gimmick or a trick. 82 out 102 counties in Illinois do not have a recorder’s office. As recently as 2012 McClean County abolished the office so why can’t we.

Read about eliminating the recorder’s office here: http://bit.ly/tirio4recorder

You may laugh at the name of his website but one of the candidates for this office has already hired in her daughter to work in the office. Joni Smith in 2015 received a 29 percent increase in pay according to county documents. Her daughter Chelsi received a 19 percent increase in 2015 according to county documents.

Patronage and nepotism is alive and well in McHenry County.

Joe is a successful small business man who owes nothing to the establishment. Joe has stated he will not run

for re-election. You can visit his website at www.iwonthiremywife.com.

TOM WILBECK AND YVONNE BARNES FOR COUNTY BOARD

Yvonne and Tom are the true fiscal conservatives in this race. If Tom is elected, like me, he will not take the politician healthcare plan. Yvonne serves on Finance and Audit. Frankly, we could not have a better, humble, servant leader. She does a magnificent job for us and she deserves to return to the county board. Yvonne represented you all when she voted to allow you, the people, to vote on township consolidation.

These are the facts that you all need to know and understand before you vote.

  • Anna May Miller voted against Township Consolidation – FACT
  • Anna May Miller voted against a simple transparency amendment – FACT
  • Anna May introduced resolutions to allow eminent domain in in sensitive conservation areas – FACT
  • Anna May Miller makes $24k a year with benefits from the McHenry County Board – FACT
  • Her Husband, Robert J. Miller, is the Algonquin Township Highway Commissioner making $108k a year – FACT
  • Robert J. Miller hired Anna May Miller as an “Administrative Assistant” now making $96k a year – FACT
  • Anna May Millers son-in-law, Derek Lee, works at Algonquin Township making $91k a year – FACT
  • Anna May Miller’s son-in-law, Andrew Rosencrans, works at Algonquin Township making $92k a year – FACT
  • Anna May Miller is the Chairman of the Transportation Committee on the McHenry County Board – FACT

FACT CHECK: http://bit.ly/salaries1,

http://bit.ly/salaries2,

http://bit.ly/transvote

If your family made over $400,000 a year off of the county and township salaries would YOU vote to consolidate your job? Is this a conflict of interest? Is it ethical to even vote on issues concerning transportation inside the township and county?

This is simply saying that the nepotism and patronage is alive and well inside the county board and the township. I feel it needs to stop.

Do you?

IF YOU DO NOT VOTE THEN EVERYTHING REMAINS THE SAME
AND THE STATUS QUO WINS

As a party leader I truly understand why so many of you are angry, feeling disenfranchised, and sadly believe like your vote doesn’t matter – BUT IT DOES. While I realize that it is much harder to sway national elections your vote has so much impact locally.

Sheriff Bill Prim won the primary election two years ago by 97 votes! Over 16,000 ballots cast and Bill won by 97 votes. In one precinct committeeman race a committeeman won by ONE VOTE! A single vote.

In closing, simply stating verifiable facts is NOT a personal attack or negative campaigning. PLEASE GOOGLE and use the links to validate what I have said.

I can say these things because I care about our county and this is the right thing to do. Many said this was political suicide to point these things out but I do not see it that way. We need more local elected leaders who will not bow to political correctness and point out the things that need to change.

I will maintain my integrity and I will continue to keep my promises to you. I am not an eloquent man but what I can say is that it is an honor and a privilege to serve you. It is very humbling.

We are blessed,

Andrew

Gasser Writes Constituents about Election — 20 Comments

  1. FACT: the far majority of those on the “Committee for Township Consolidation” could not give one verifiable reason why they supported Township Consolidation.

Most did so, because they blindly followed orders, while others did it strictly out of political opportunism.

    I live in Grafton Township.

This consolidation would have increased taxes for residents in our Township.

What explanation would be given to them as to how consolidation benefited them?

This entire “reform movement” grows more disingenuous by the day as the self-proclaimed “reformers” are becoming the fibbers.

All of a sudden everyone are tax-fighters also seeking six figure salaries…

But, of course the end justifies the means, right?

As long as it’s done with good intentions, then, I guess it’s okay. As long as “we’re in control.”

Perhaps the “reformers” need to go re-read the Book “Animal Farm.”

They just may realize how cozy they are becoming sleeping in the Farmer’s bed.

  2. Thank you Andrew Gasser.

All of these candidates will bring reform in Government and represent the people .

If people only knew what goes on in Cowlin’s courtroom, it is not something to be proud of.

We the people, can change all of that tomorrow by voting got Demetri

  3. Eloquent | Define Eloquent at Dictionary.com
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/eloquent?o=1having or exercising the power of fluent, forceful, and appropriate speech: an eloquent orator. 2. characterized by forceful and appropriate expression:.

Positive: marked by or indicating acceptance, approval, or affirmation

Negative: promoting a person or cause by criticizing or attacking the competition

How many of you are sick and tired of the political correctness that infiltrates our elections?

Me, and the new political correct thing to win elections in this county is attack your opposition with Patronage and related Nepotism.

Both legal practices that even Andrew is not really trying very hard to correct.

If so Andrew, where is the legislation, the meetings, any thing besides whining about your opposition?

Why haven’t I heard anything from you on Sheriff Bill’s patronage?

    Not the opposition, YET?

FULL TRANSPARENCY, would mean you tell everybody about your Gov VA health care and Military pension, and if you term limit yourself, you wouldn’t get a pension anyway.

Which means your County check has one less deduction, IMRF, more $$$$ in the pocket, right pal?

By your definition, my comments were positive.

    Yamon!

  4. Nob, he can’t do it alone.

He needs the rest of the Republicans and board members to rewrite policy.

He has the right to speak out against the lack of ethics and there are plenty!

    This is voter education.

There are a lot of dirty people we need to rid this county of.

From what I see, his picks are the ones I too would go for.

How I wish I could vote for Wilbeck and Barnes!

Anyway, thanks for telling me about the blog.

I see you like to bust chops over here too.

Why don’t you call Andrew and see how you can help?

I’m sure he could use the support, seeing he’s one of the very few if not the ONLY one, that doesn’t play politics.

  5. You may laugh at the name of his website but one of the candidates for this office has already hired in her daughter to work in the office.

Joni Smith in 2015 received a 29 percent increase in pay according to county documents.

Her daughter Chelsi received a 19 percent increase in 2015 according to county documents.

Andrew this a complete lie I will work against you next election and my support will work against you

Andrew we no you have intentions to run for county clerk office

VOTE NO FOR ANDREW MCHENRY COUNTY CLERK

ANDREW FIGHT FOR ALL THE TAXES PAYER OF MCHENRY COUNTY NOT YOUR OWN ADGEND

  6. Unfortunately (imo) Andrew’s ‘hate’ / ‘jealousy’ of the Millers jaundices his thought patterns.

His continued positive comments about consolidation are not founded on fact.

The consolidation idea was driven by Bob Anderson who ‘hates’ Townships (could be because he was denied office).

    Consolidation was a bad idea.

All it would do in the case of Grafton / Algonquin is increase the power base for the Millers.

And, yes, Patrick is correct, it would have increased property taxes for Grafton property owners.

Even the dim witted (imo) Schofield and Gottemoller came to understand that consolidation was a bad idea.

The only good thing that came out of the consolidation fiasco was Cal’s idea of creating a new Township for the populated area in the south-east and then eliminating it.

Want to fix our property tax problem?

Eliminate Valley Hi, the 708 Board and the senior tax in addition to reining in the spending by police, fire, libraries, park districts and public sector pensions.

  7. You’re right IMHO. He’s more wonderful than he thinks he is!
LMAO the rats are running scared.

The hate is for the actions of the ‘bad actors’ we have in local govt. and it’s worse than the average person thinks it is!

And there are legions of people who stand behind Andrew on this.

Well we definitely need a new Clerk! (guess those ‘unique skills’ her husband has can’t save her)

FACT: The polls are a mess today, there are other polls with no election judges, no registrars at other polls and I know of one polling place where there are a great number of voting machines that are not engaged-oh and that’s at the Alg Twhnship bldg WHERE THE MILLERS ARE!!!

We need a LOT of changes in this county!

McCrook county is what this has become.

    Get the orange jumpsuits ready…

  8. Nob sent me,
If Andrew would actually try, follow through, I would help, I’ve offered to sign a anti N & P petition.

Offered advice on meetings with state reps, as state law needs changes, yet Nada, just more whining about how hard it is to get things done.

County elections should be no partisan, we have Dino, Rino, Tea, they are interchangeable given the issue.

As soon as we have teams we the tax payers suffer somehow.

  9. Hearing the polls are a wreck!

One in Algonquin has no registrar with a line out the door (now the voters probably have left), other polling places with no Election Judge or poll watchers.

As far as anti-nep and pat petition goes, we don’t need Andrew do we?

Can’t we start that on our own?

  10. Yes, go ahead and start one, but since he whines so much he should be leading the effort with solutions.

  11. You do not need other members of the board to introduce a piece of policy.

They are all jumping on the Valley Hi band wagon- but no one on the board was even aware of it for the years it was building.

It didn’t happen in a vacuum.

There are few fiscal minds on that board.

    Want to impress people?

Put forward a piece of policy that eliminates the Taxpayer subsidy for the healthcare plan.

I don’t care that the board has access- I CARE THAT I PAY FOR IT.

It isn’t about whether an individual takes the program- it is whether taxpayers are paying for the plan.

I see in the earlier ad that Walkup is taking a swing at Joe for having a thriving practice- I don’t see anywhere that Walkup is going to deny the salary if he wins.

Self serving- that is all I see in this election cycle.

    Self serving practices.

  12. Many in this reform movement have, out are starting to, become exactly what they claim to have stood against.

“Harlen Cain” you, and your many aliases continue to use these played out terms, of old guard, old regime, rats…

Well, I am none of these!

Most who have filled your head have proven to be looking for nothing more than control..

I challenge Gasser and the rest to go out and do some good, without bragging about it and seeking credit.

It’s said that “integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking.”

I don’t think I’ve ever read that it requires making sure that every deed is bragged about on every blog and social media sight.

This Reformer movement has become bastardized by opportunism and Six figure salary seekers.

As I stated above, you would all do well to go read Animal Farm, again.

You are on your way to becoming exactly what you said you were against.

  13. “Self serving is all I see in this election cycle”

Inish, did you and I actually just agree?

  14. I have worked with Andy Gasser.

    What an honor.

This election is colored by many factors, but at the local level, I rely on Andy’s recommendations.

If those of us who see what’s coming will simply bring a neighbor to the poles, we can stop the decline.

It takes work, and I have two neighbors that have a list of who I think are the best choices.

And I thank Almighty God for the freedom to support a government of the people.

  15. Steve Snyder u a disgrace of man kind!!

i dont know u but if you like Gasser, dont say much about u.

  16. +1
    @Patrick McHenry

    Meet the new boss

    Same as the old boss….
