The yard sign of Jennifer Weinhammer uses hammers to drive home her name.

My name is Jennifer Weinhammer and I am writing you as Precinct Committeemen in Algonquin Township, Precinct 17. I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and inform you of my interest as running for Treasurer for Algonquin Township Republican Central Committee.

My husband Mike of twelve years and our two children moved to Cary two and a half years ago. In that time we have come to love our community and neighbors. When we first moved to Cary I went door to door in our subdivision introducing myself and invited all our neighbors over for a meet and greet, as everyone likes to meet the new neighbors. I also created a Face book page for our subdivision where we can ask our neighbors questions and create fun events such as couples and family get-togethers.

Bringing unity together for the community has also inspired me to sit on the committee of National Night Out where Cary closes down Main Street the first Tuesday in August to bridge the gap between police and community. I am proud to say I was asked to be part of this committee upon moving here in 2013 and have stayed part of that committee and helped it grow since then.

This past year I was also asked by the President of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association to run for treasurer, which I was honored to say yes. I took the Citizens Police Academy nine week class, and was inspired by all the Cary Police does for our community.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing and a Masters Degree in Education. I spent most of my years in sales where I sold commercial service contracts on a nationwide level. In this role I was able to listen to and understand customer needs and wants and used this same skill set when going door to door (as a precinct committeemen candidate), listening to concerned voters, as well as educating voters on candidate’s backgrounds.

In my personal life, being fiscally responsible is one of the greatest attributes to our household. We use the Dave Ramsey debt free living plan and budget our monthly expenses strictly. Anyone who knows me knows that we live a conservative life style and our budget comes into play on almost every decision we make.

I am interested in running for Treasurer of Algonquin Township Republican Central Committee because it is important for me to continue to be involved in the community I live in and will raise our children in. I want to make sure fiscally conservative decisions are being made within the Algonquin Township Party and will adhere to this, in this role.

I am also endorsing Andrew Gasser as Chairman.I came to meet Andrew during my committeemen race. Andrew walked with me on several occasions going door to door and mentored myself, as well as assisted in questions about mailings, etc. He has helped so many other committeemen as well, and I know that is why he will be such a great leader, with his willingness to help others. As Andrew would say, “Service before self.”

I am endorsing Chris Covelli as Vice Chairman. I came to meet the Covelli family first by meeting Chris’ wife Kimberly when she ran as a write in for The Village of Cary as Trustee and won. I regularly attend the village board meetings and had met Chris Covelli there as well. Over the years I have learned that Chris is a great man who takes every responsibility that comes his way with the utmost respect. Chris is also the type of person that is always willing to help, as he also assisted in walking my precinct as well, another great leadership quality.

I am also endorsing Scott Vetter as Secretary. Scott is a passionate individual when it comes to following local politics. Scott regularly attends Crystal Lake school district board meetings and continues to remain vigilant in getting others involved. Scott was honorably discharged from the United States Navy and he will bring a high level of focus to our party.

I hope I was able to give you a quick recap on who I am, why I am running for Treasurer and the candidates I endorse. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or call me.

If I don’t hear from you I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm at the McHenry County Republican Headquarters.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Weinhammer

    What a Team!

IMHO, not appearing very humble when you dis someone for no reason.
