Will County Board Notes Its County Officials Poorest Paid in Collar Counties

The Daily Southtown is reporting that Will County elected officials are the poorest paid in the collar counties.

The poor dears haven’t had a raise in eleven years.

The paper says that “the circuit court clerk, coroner, recorder of deeds, auditor and state’s attorney, all…currently earn $93,000.”

The base pay of County Board members is $23,000.

The most interesting part of the article is that the County Board plans to vote on such issues on April 21st.

I thought decisions concerning compensation had to be made much earlier in the election calendar.

If adjustments can still be made, the McHenry County Board could eliminate Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pensions for County Board members starting this December, rather than two years from now.

  1. If they could they still would not because you have people on the Baord counting on their pensions.

  2. I sure wish that McHenry County could claim that its officials (and all of its employees too, for that matter) were the worst paid in the region.

I would be genuinely proud of that.
