Gearing up for his second contested General Election in two years, State Rep. Jack Franks apparently doesn’t think the $564,519.79 his campaign committee reported having at the end of March is enough to beat back Republican Steve Reick.
The McHenry County Democrat is holding a fundraiser (minimum admission price $250, maximum wished for $2,500) in Springfield on May 2nd.
State Rep. Jack Franks is holding a joint fundraiser with State Rep. Andy Skoog on the first Monday night in May.
It will be held at Floyd’s Thirst Parlor in Springfield.
State Rep. Andy Scoog of LaSalle County is part of a joint effort that night.

Too bad he has not adopted Wisconsin’s graduated tax too as he is all about everything else in Wisconsin.
If Illinois adopted Wisconsin’s income tax structure, there would be no deficit.
Wisconsin’s tax structure hasn’t prevented from people moving there.

Jack Franks is a hypocrite.
He claims to fight for a lower tax burden.
But he does next to nothing to scale back all the pension benefit hikes, retiree healthcare benefit hikes, and collective bargaining hikes that have taken place, many while he was in office.
That’s because his primary supporters, unions, are against scaling back such hikes.
The worst of those hikes were unfunded or underfunded pension benefit hikes to pension systems that were already underfunded.
The worst of the pension hikes occurred in the teacher and administrator pension fund for public schools, TRS, Teachers Retirement System of the State of Illinois.
TRS is the single largest fiscal problem in Illinois.
TRS benefits were repeatedly hiked.
TRS even produces a listing of the hikes in a document titled Evolution of the TRS Benefits Structure.
Every single one of those hikes occurred while TRS was underfunded.
Now that’s creepy.
