Kane County State’s Attorney Says a Legislator Could Serve as County Board Chairman

With State Rep. Jack Franks putting out feelers to discover traditionally Republican support for a run for McHenry County Board Chairman, I thought the following opinion from the Kane County State’s Attorney might be of interest:

  1. I don’t know much about the Kane County scene.

Is this a possibility down there, or are they just trying to stir up crud elsewhere (and specifically, are they trying to stir things up in McHenry County)?

    If so, why?

  2. Also, I’d like to note that the State’s Attorney serves as general legal counsel for the county.

That is to say that this is a letter from a lawyer to a client.

“My lawyer told me it was legal” is often not the same thing as it actually being legal.

  3. As much as you all hate Jack- you may want to take a better look at your alternative.

People were protesting in front of his house.

  4. I sure hope Franks would run.

He would be substantially better than the alternative.
