Franks Gets County Board IMRF Abolition Bill to House Floor

Franks laughing eyes closed facing right

Jack Franks

State Senator Pam Althoff passed Senate Bill 2701 requiring county board members participating in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund to keep logs of the hours spent working on county business.

In the case of McHenry County Board members, the number of hours required is 1,000.

The IMRF, at the request of State Rep. Jack Franks, has looked at the McHenry County Board situation and asked for justification that its members have worked 1,000 hours in the last year.

Keeping the work logs, the bill, now under Franks’ sponsorship in the House, has the following content:

Prohibits participation by a person who is an elected member of a county board and is first so elected on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act.

Imposes administrative requirements on current elected county board members.

Requires a participating elected member of a county board to submit time sheets documenting the time spent on official government business.

Provides that the submitted time sheets are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Amends the Freedom of Information Act to make a conforming change.

Effective immediately.

The bill is on “Short Debate,” which is supposed to mean that it is non-controversial.  Only two people get to speak on each side of the issue.

  1. The rules may be that only two people get to speak on each side of the issue but that’s never been an impediment to a certain Democratic lapdog who speaks out of both side of his mouth.

Know how to tell when he’s lying?

    His lips move.

    It’s a dead giveaway.

  2. I can’t believe Republican shill Cal Skinner is against transparency of government.

We SHOULD see the time sheets.

These guys are as crooked as Crooked Hillary

  3. Apparently you do not know the meaning of the word shill.

I absolutely, 100% know that you are a troll and are only interested in stirring the waters.

It is quite irritating that someone should have as little class as to try to demean the actual owner of a blog like you do continually.

Your pathetic name calling doesn’t deserve a response; but I have too much respect for Cal to let you just litter his pages with your droppings.

  4. Cindy, seems to me that Cal has a crush on Jack.

He posts about him 10 times a day!

  5. What kind of bullshit is

“Provides that the submitted time sheets are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Amends the Freedom of Information Act to make a conforming change.”…

    Seriously???

So people can just lie about time spent an not have to be accountable???

  6. This is not about Democrats or Republicans it’s about holding our elected officials accountable.

Submitted timesheets should be public information to keep everyone honest, if this goes into affect watch how many public officials will not be collecting the Illinois municipal retirement fund pension in Illinois .
