Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 9

Prodigious researcher Mark looked up the contributions that State Rep. Jack Franks has received from the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees.  Since Franks has not filed his Withdrawal of Candidacy form, the contributions from the largest state employee union seem worth sharing.

Sunday, May 15th, Gonigam reported,

“Franks qualified that saying he’d give up the Rep. race if the Committee can pick another candidate who’s both ‘electable’ and holds a political outlook consistent with his own.”

But Franks hasn’t pulled out of the race.

The form that Franks has to file with the State Board of Elections to withdraw from the race is on the right.

Mark reports on the contributions to the union Democrat below:

AFSCME (American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees) contributions to Illinois State Representative Jack Franks (Democrat – 63rd Representative District which is western McHenry County – office in Woodstock) have decreased over the years.

Mr. Franks had two PACs to date in his State Representative political career.

The Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) assigned Committee ID 13681 to the committee named, “Citizens for Jack D Franks.”

That PAC has been closed, a D-2 Final Report filed February 13, 2006.

Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 9 — 3 Comments

  1. Keep running this thread Cal !

    So did some homework looking
    At Franks contributors over the years,
    Very scary & disturbing.

    Will make a list & send it to u, when I can.

    Voters need to see these things to
    Understand that Franks is not the same
    Person that left for Springfield 9 terms ago.

  2. The General Election is November 8, 2016.

    Per the Illinois State Board of Elections, Election and Campaign Finance Calendar, there are two deadlines to file Withdrawal of Candidacy forms in Illinois.

    +++++++++++

    Friday August 26, 2016

    Withdrawal of Candidacy

    Last Day for independent, established party, and new political party candidates to file withdrawal of nomination papers in the office of the State Board of Elections.

    (10 ILCS 5/10-7)

    Withdrawal of Candidacy

    Last day for candidates who filed nomination papers with the county clerk to to file withdrawal of nomination papers in the office of the county clerk.

    +++++++++

    As of right now, Jack Franks is officially running for two political offices in Illinois.

    1. Democrat for McHenry County Board Chair vs Republican Mike Walkup.

    2. Democrat for State Representative, 63rd District vs Republican Steve Reick.

    The Democrats hope to capture both offices, then reduce the number of committees and County Board Members to give them a better chance at gaining eventual majority control in McHenry County.

    The Democrats first attempts in this plan failed.

    ++++++++

    Tactic 1

    On December 7, 2015, Democrat Ron Eck, an official in the Carpenters labor union, filed an objection to Steve Reick’s nominating petitions (Eck v Reick) in an attempt to invalidate Steve Reick’s nominating petitions.

    Reick prevailed.

    ++++++++

    Tactic 2

    Democrat / Jack Franks campaign contributor Jeffery Lichte filed nominating petitions as a Republican candidate against Steve Reick in the March 15, 2016 primary election, but lost despite big money spent on a Steve Reick smear campaign.

    The eleven petition passers to gather names in McHenry County for Jeffery Lichte to run as a Republican State Representative representing McHenry County were ALL from outside McHenry County.

    Eight “Republican” petition passers were from Cook County.

    Two “Republican” petition passers were from DeKalb County.

    One “Republican” petition passer was from Kane County.

    Why were no Jeffery Lichte petition passers from McHenry County, to pass a petition for a Democrat to run as a Republican State Representative representing western McHenry County?

    Again, Reick prevailed.

  3. The AFSCME Council 31 political action committee is named “AFSCME Illinois Council 31 PAC” and has committee ID 530 on the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
