Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 43

State Rep. Jack Franks continues to snow Springfield reporters.

Below you see a tweet from Springfield-based Amanda Vinicky of WUIS-FM. the Public Radio station in the State Capital.Franks stepping down 6-30-16 Spfld Pulic Radio
Note that the reporter says that Franks “is stepping down.”

Well, maybe.

That’s what he apparently told every reporter who was not in the room on Sunday morning, May 15th.

At least that’s what they have written.

The problem is that it’s been a month and a half since Franks appeared to call it quits in Springfield, but he’s still on the ballot for State Rep., running for his tenth term–seven more than he promised in 1998 during his first campaign.

And he is also on the ballot for McHenry County Board Chairman.

May 15th Pete Gonigam reported,

“Franks qualified that saying he’d give up the Rep. race if the Committee can pick another candidate who’s both ‘electable’ and holds a political outlook consistent with his own.”

Guess Franks has not found someone “electable” yet.

Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 43 — 9 Comments

  1. JACK. Send in both withdrawal forms for state rep.
    & County Board Chairman & then . . .

    HIT the ROAD
    And DON’T COME BACK !

  2. The tweet was regarding Senate Bill 2047 (SB 2047) in the 99th General Assembly.

    The House vote was 105 Yeas – 4 Nays – 1 Present.

The Present vote was Republican State Representative CD Davidsmeyer, 100th District, Jacksonville office.

So Democrat State Representative Jack Franks 63rd District who called Republican Bruce Rauner a union buster and has not endorsed the Rauner Administration Turnaround Agenda, votes no on the stopgap budget bill with Republican State Representatives Jeanne Ives (Wheaton office), Dave McSweeney (Cary office), and Tom Morrison (Palatine office).

Is Jack Franks a sponsor along with any Republicans on any Turnaround Agenda reforms?

The Governor Rauner spokeswoman who commented a few months back at the time Jack Franks accused Bruce Rauner of union busting probably summed it up best when she said Jack Franks is all over the place.

  3. LOL, You Keep talking scat about Franks because you cant say anything positive about his opponent.

  4. Jack Franks thank you for your service to McHenry County can’t wait to work with you as county board. Chairman

  5. I’ll keep ‘talking SMACK about JACK’ because
He is the type of career politician I find despicable.

Don’t care what party he is with, because I am an
    Independent voter.

These races in November are not personality
    Contests

They ARE about CHARACTER & who
Is best suited by their past work & concern
For the BIG ISSUES that the County Board has
    Already been working on.

    Mike Walkup.is a team player & doesn’t run
Around beating his chest about accomplishments
Or making statements & attacking other board
    Members he his working with.

Have posted plenty of Mike Walkup’s other accomplishments
& good character attributes on past posts.
Feel free to go back & look those up.

SO, HIT the ROAD JACK ( out of Illjnois)
& send in those WITHDRAWAL FORMS for
State Rep & Mchenry County Board Chair ! ! !

  6. You guys keep talking as if Jack has actually accomplished something positive during his 18 year politician career.

    What would that be?

Is that he voted to keep Madigan as speaker 9 out of 9 times?

Is it that he is a delegate supporting the only candidate in history that is being investigated by the FBI ?

It must be those remarkable imaginary reductions in our taxes.

Or it could be his imaginary accomplishment of getting a balanced budget approved.

  7. Cal, you have no proof he is going to run for the house.

    You can’t prove a negative.

  8. The evidence is that Jack Franks has not withdrawn from the November ballot for State Representative.

Franks has had about seven weeks during which he could have submitted his Statement of Withdrawal.
