Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 46

Too back we couldn't celebrate July 4th with a Statement of Withdrawal from the State Rep. race by Jack Franks.

Too bad we couldn’t celebrate July 4th with a Statement of Withdrawal from the State Rep. race by Jack Franks.

State Rep. Jack Franks still has not filed the paperwork to get himself off the November ballot for re-election.

It’s been a month and a half since I figured out that Franks might well run for both offices at the same time.

The first clue, of course, was his reply to a question from report Pete Gonigam in the room where he was nominated to be the Democrats’ candidate for McHenry County Board Chairman.

On that day, Sunday, May 15th, Pete Gonigam reported,

“Franks qualified that saying he’d give up the Rep. race if the Committee can pick another candidate who’s both ‘electable’ and holds a political outlook consistent with his own.”

Then I started looking on the page at the Illinois State Board of Elections web site which reports candidates who have withdrawn their names from the fall election.

What anyone could have seen since May 15th is summed up in the title of the Zombie’s song,

She’s not there

(with apologies for the wrong gender).

Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 46 — 19 Comments

  1. It’s a political catch 22.

If Franks drops out of the race, he’s ceding his former seat to Reick uncontested.

This doesn’t bode well longterm especially considering Franks very well one day run for Statewide executive office.

If that is a goal, then he shouldn’t let Reick take the seat uncontested.

Why would a party support a candidate that deliberately undermines the super majority in the house?

If Franks doesn’t, then he is running contrary to your Worst Electric Newsletter quote, which might be incorrect for all we know.

Regardless, he is a party man and tacitly supporting the Democrat supermajority for longterm political gain.

The real question isn’t if he’ll withdraw; it’s if he wants to ever run for elected statewide office?

I think the obvious choice, much to the chagrin of the McGOP, is the first scenario.

  2. First Electric Newspaper’s Pete Gonigam has a Master’s Degree from the Columbia School of Journalism.

  3. Franks hasn’t cared about the voters
In Mchenry County from day one.

He just wants to run around with the
    Democratic Madigan puppets & make
Speeches in Springfield, no one wants
    To listen to.

Did I forget getting campaign donations from unions & corporations.

Epitome of a useless serial term career
    Politician.

Hit the road (out of Illinois) JACK
    And DON’T COME BACK !

  4. Hey Cal, nice touch with the Zombies song

    ‘She’s Not There’.

Franks does give us alot of fodder for putdowns
Because of his misdeeds & lack of accomplishments

  5. Everyone remember that Franks is a delegate for Hillary Clinton, who the FBI just said was “extremely careless” with some of our most classified information.

She was extremely careless as Sec State. Do you want her in the White House?

On the local level, Franks supports Madigan on 9 of 9 votes, and he supports someone who is Extememly careless” as a presidential candidate. Jack has zero insight into what is good for the state, the nation, and even our county.

  6. Cindy and John, I will be you both 100 to your favorite charity that Hillary and Franks both win!

    Deal?

  7. If the people want Jack Franks to continue being Mad Mikeys Puppet, then yes he will win.

If the people decide they want to put a stop to corruption, high taxes and therefore choose “REFORM IN GOVERNMENT” Jack Franks will will LOSE!

    Its up to the people!

  8. False choice fallacy Fighting

    Anyway, Cindy, John. $100.

    Wanna bet?

  9. It is no fallacy.

It’s up to the people to promote change in government by electing the right people.

Franks has proven he is not the right person for the job.

The people should be sick and tired of watching their real estate taxes sky rocket every year.

  10. Gambling is a sin, Moderate.

And everyone knows the fix is in.

    Hildebeast is the shoe in.

The rule of law is history.

If you don’t have Jesus, you have no hope of any future.

  11. And speeding is against the law, but I’m sure you don’t do that.

John, $100 to your favorite charity if I lose the wager. You in?

  12. You have a strange habit of speaking in non sequiturs.I have never read anything about speeding being against God’s law. Besides being stupid, what part of ‘NO’ do you not understand?
