Jack Franks Taxpayer-Financed Mailing to 25,000 Echos Campaign Themes

Jack Franks is running for McHenry County Board Chairman, but he is still State Representative.

One of the benefits of being a state legislator is that one can have the Legislative Printing Unit in Springfield print about anything one wants.

Besides stationery and envelopes, the most popular request is probably newsletters to be mailed to constituents.

The printing and paper cost nothing.

The postage usually comes from a legislator’s “district allowance,” which pays for office rent, utilities and staff.

  1. Hilarious that he puts the high taxes
Issue at the top of th list.

Franks has been a major contributor to
The financial mess in Springfield where
Pensions have created s a huge part of
    The Illinois debt problem.

School districts in McHenry county create
The highest percentage of the tax burden & Franks won’t BE ABLE to step into that sinkhole with ALL the MONEY he has taken from TEACHERS UNIONS.

WORDS coming from another useless career politician who has already tied his
    Own hands behind his back.

Running for county board will NEVER
    Lower anyone’s taxes substantially to
    Make a difference.

    Hello clueless Jack Franks
    IT’S the SCHOOL DISTRICTS !

  2. In all the time he’s been my state rep, this is the first “newsletter” I’ve received from Jack.

I also find it interesting that he speaks of himself in the third person… “Jack has done this…” and “Jack is doing that…”.

If it was his newsletter, wouldn’t he be speaking in the first person? Now, if it was a campaign piece…

  3. Are we ever going to hear from Jack’s opponent, whatever his name is?

  4. Jim,

Michael Walkup spends a lot of his time at committee and board meetings.

Maybe you could attend a meeting and talk one on one with him there.

Walkup is not big on making grand campaign promises and headlines, he’d rather spend his time working for the taxpayer.

  5. 24 Board members and a professional staff of dozens, I just don’t get it, can’t be that complicated, seems it’s just one person scratching the back of another, all over paid with the best medical and dental insurance money can buy.

I just don’t get it, we need to downsize big time!
