Following the resignation of the Dental Coordinator and with direction from the Board of Health the decision was made that continued operation of the dental clinic was not financially possible.

Patients who received services at the MCDH Dental Clinic or who have an appointment scheduled will be contacted in the next few weeks.

The Greater Elgin Family Care Center (815-363-9900) is available as a resource for people needing low-cost dental services.

The Harvard Area Community Health Center has received funding and plans to add dental services in the future.  Additional dental resources are listed on The Department website www.mcdh.info.

The McHenry Cooperative Dental Clinic, based on an idea by Dr. Joseph Hagenbruch and supported by the McHenry County Dental Society, was established in 1997 to offer services to low income individuals.

According to Mike Hill, Administrator of the McHenry County Department of Health, “closing the clinic was a difficult decision that was financially necessary.”  In 2015 approximately 3647 McHenry County residents received preventive service care at the clinic.

  1. Did they need the money to pay for the upcoming salary increases?

  2. Services to those in need are always first to go.

I’d imagine the County Board Room is is in need of new furniture or some other complete waste of money.

  3. Why didn’t you mention the new security measures to make sure that constituents don’t injure their county board members?

  4. Connect the Dots is RIGHT ON!

If I could find naïve folks to pay for my dental care, no questions asked I might actually do it!

These people put the bite on taxpayers.

Since when is providing dental care a function of county government????

  5. Is. This that whole in the wall dental clinic that was found commiting fraud a few months back?

(Between the tattoo parlor and out of business gas station across from the train depot in Woodstock?)
