A press release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department:
Two Subjects Arrested for Union Burglary
Multi-jurisdictional cooperation was at the heart of a chain of events that led to the arrests of two McHenry County men for burglary and other related charges for a tavern burglary in early August in Union, Illinois, McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim announced Thursday.
Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office was given valuable information by the Woodstock Police Department following that department’s arrests of two men,
- Andrew C. Hintt, 26, of Woodstock and
- Harold T. Caley Jr., 31, of Crystal Lake
on various charges relating to crimes in Woodstock.
The information led to a successful joint investigation with the Union Police Department that led to further charges against Hintt and Caley for a burglary August 4 at Clasen’s Tavern in Union.
The Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT team, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force (which includes the Lake in the Hills Police Department) and members of the United States Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force also assisted in the cooperative effort.
Last Friday, added onto the pair’s existing criminal docket were new charges:
- burglary
- theft
- criminal damage to property
They are both currently being held at the McHenry County Correctional Facility.
