Dan McConchie

“The Illinois Supreme Court decided to block the voters’ opportunity to have a say on the Independent Map Amendment.

“With this being the final decision, I call on my fellow legislators in the General Assembly to explore other options.

“Hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans signed a petition to make the process of drawing legislative districts less political.

“The General Assembly has a duty to uphold the democratic process and give the people a voice on this matter.”

  1. The Bad News:

You are now living under DEMOCRAT tyranny … courtesy of Mike Madigan & his cohorts.

    The Good News:

You can escape … call Two Men And A Truck today.

  2. Face it folks, Madigan won’t let any type of redistricting to happen.

  3. The whole point of gathering signatures for a referendum was to go around lawmakers who won’t act on this issue, because under the current system they are literally guarding their own jobs.

What other options could there be?

The legislature won’t do it themselves.

Could the legislature get the issue on the ballot?

That would depend on a few things.

One would be if the legislators are willing to do that, which I don’t think they would for the above reason.

Do you really see 3/5s voting to allow us have a say in their jobs?

The second is why did the court throw this out?

Did it have to do with not having enough signatures, or was their reasoning more along the lines that Illinois voters can’t amend the Constitution through their own referendum (it didn’t originate in the legislature, but from voters)?

I think it’s probably the latter.

The article posted about the man moving away from this state is a must read.

    That guy is right.

This situation is hopeless and any rational person would put themselves and their family ahead of trying to fix a state that has no interest in being responsible.

  4. Good Luck you smart man, we are working on our exit as well!

enough of the maddie gang politics, you can’t expect the smaller % of non Union workers to pay for the state Higher % of union workers and free cheesers to continue… something is gonna implode !

OH it already has deaths every weekend!

bad economy = riots shootings robberies deaths!

no one gets it or cares!

Detroit is a cake walk as to what this state is turning into…
