“Man of the People” Jack Franks Holding $1,000 Minimum Fundraiser in Oak Brook — 30 Comments

  1. If he wants to be a McHenry county elected official shouldn’t he try and support McHenry county businesses and have the fundraiser in our county? Just a thought.

A $1000. min is extremely expensive so I assume he isn’t interested in the average taxpayers of his county attending?

  2. It is for sale to the highest bidder!

What a suprise that he gets the bulk of his cash OUTSIDE of McHenry County.

Get with it folks he is going to turn this into Crook County!

  3. @Farmer- you mean a county that has a single party rule with cronyism and nepotism- families in power, office passed down family member to family member- things being done because of who you know not what you know?

    That kind of Crook county?

Cuz frankly- it looks alot like McHenry County

  4. McHenry County has nowhere near the level of corruption as Cook County.

Way more Cook County politicians and government employees have been convicted of corruption that McHenry County politicians.

    Not even close.

  5. Sorry Jack…

Charging me the equivalent of 20% of my tax bill so you can promise to save me 10% is one of the reasons the moving truck will be at my house soon.

    You’re an idiot.

  6. McHenry County – FOR SALE

To the highest bidder from Chicago.

Lying Jack Franks comes out swinging in his bid to play GOD in McHenry County

  7. As I posted before.

    Of course, the contributions are
Still being solicited & coming in,
It’s career politician Jack Frank’s CHRISTMAS TIME !

It doesn’t matter how much he
Already has or what the position
Is he is running for because it is
RITUAL & that’s was is done.

    Fa la la la la

There is probably a tree with the
    Empty contribution envelopes on it
    As decorations.

Someone PLEASE write a letter to the
Editor of the NWH on this Jacko Franco
    Event.

Let all the Mchenry County peasants
Know how Jacko wants to EAT STEAK
In DUPAGE county with fatcat elitists while we the peasants have to pay our second property tax installment right now.

Jacko Franco never ceases to amaze
With the different ways to DISGUST the
Peasant taxpayers of MC & with a
smile on his elitist GREEDY face.

  8. Walkup is bought like a cheap suit.

He received over $20,000 from one cook county resident.

    Facts are pesky, I know.

  9. Moderate,

As usual, you make a comment without a single fact to back It up.

Then you call what you said a fact as if anyone believes it because you said it.

From whom did Walkup receive the alleged $20k?

Who is this Cook County resident?

  10. It came from Sage Products founder Vince Foglia and his wife.

Sage Products is located in Cary. Before that his factory was in Crystal Lake.

The Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake is another beneficiary of the Foglia family’s generosity.

  11. Walkup’s money: Vimcemt Foglia, of Sage Products, resident of N. Barrington.

The 20K plus is primary and general election contributions combined.

Just check the State Board of Elections web site — it’s all there.

  12. Mike Noonan is listed (along with Len DeFranco, Jack’s father Herb Franks, and James Knepper) on the Host Committee for the above Jack Franks fundraiser.

Michael Noonan is a former legislative aide to Michael Madigan, former campaign manager for Jack Franks, former campaign manager for Lisa Madigan, and partner (along with Victor Reyes and formerly Maze Jackson) in Compass Public Affairs.

Compass Public Affairs won no bid contracts from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).

A Michael Madigan son-in-law, Jordan Matyas (wife Tiffany, not Lisa), was Chief of Staff at RTA less than a month in March 2011 when Compass was awarded a no bid contract by RTA.

Jack Franks criticized that and other PR expenditures by RTA.

“The RTA has ‘gotten away from their core mission,’ said state Rep. Jack Franks, a Marengo Democrat.

‘Their job is to coordinate the transit agencies for northeastern Illinois.

Spending money on PR firms and speech writers is such an abuse of taxpayers’ money.'”

In addition to being a partner in Compass Public Affairs, Victor Reyes is a partner in the law firm Reyes Kurson listed on the fundraiser flyer posted in the article above.

  13. LOVE the REAL facts Moderate & Marks
    Info as well.

NO WAY will Mike Walkup ever have a
$1000 minimum fundraiser in an ELITIST FATCAT town ( in another county) like OAKBROOK.

More deflection & PROJECTION on the comment about Mike Walkup being
    Bought.

I’ll take an off-the-rack suit guy as opposed to the Armani guy, as someone
    Who represents me any day.

Facts are pesky Moderate, YOU WOULD
    KNOW !

Go back to your “JOB ?”, or are you on
Vacation with.the rest of the state reps &
    Senators ?

But wait it is Christmas Fundraising
Season, that tree in Oakbrook will have lots of contribution envelopes on it to delight Herbert & Jacko while they
    Have their big steaks.

Fa la la la la (gag)

We the taxpayers could use some of
    JACKO’s 10% at tax time now .

  14. Hmmm, Sage products is located
    WHERE ?

    Looks like CONTRIBUTION ENVY
    To me.

That TWIST won’t fly on this blog.

So why come to the turnip that can’t be bleed anymore!

    wanna by a bridge ?

  22. Mark, who cares who made contributions to Franks, he won’t win anyway.

    Sickening.

I see Daddy Warbucks, Herbie “the Prawn” Franks helped bankroll the extravanganza.

Daddy ….please bail me out…. again!

  24. @watchdog2- who are you kidding?

Walkup couldn’t get a single person in the room for a fundraiser for $1000.

He can’t even manage his own fundraiser period.

I haven’t seen a single piece of evidence the guy is even running for election.

I can’t speak to what Franks is up to but stop acting like Walkup is taking the high road.

He’s never even gotten off the bench.

  25. What elitist comments from Inish.

It IS ABOUT the MONEY with Jacko, because that obviously impresses
    People like you.

    ‘Manage his fundraising period’ (?),
That is a Jacko-speak put down & is reflecting right BACK ON YOU.

With Jacko it’s Christmas time AGAIN & how much money can I AMASS & then SPEND.

Just flashin the cash, NO SUBSTANCE.

  26. Noonan > Williams > Storino, Ramello & Durkin > Franks

No indication she had anything to do with the selection, but it is interesting to note that Ann Williams (Ann M Williams), current Chicago Democrat State Representative and former wife of Mike Noonan (who’s listed in the flyer above), is currently listed as “Of Counsel” practicing municipal law at the Storino, Ramello & Durkin law firm.

Democrat McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks introduced Nicholas Peppers of the same Storino, Ramello, Durkin law fir as the County Board Parliamentarian (rules interpreter) on January 17, 2017, to the surprise of the County State’s Attorney’s office which had provided Parliamentarian services to previous county board chairs.

  28. Notice the “JF” logo, which includes a “wave” through the F, in the upper left hand corner of the flyer.

Those are part of the Jack Franks political campaign branding.

Those political brand markings appeared on stickers and nail files at the County booth at the McHenry Chamber of Commerce expo on February 4, 2017.
