Governor Honors Victims of 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner issued the following statement in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

He has also issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, September 11, 2016 Patriot Day in Illinois.

All entities governed by the Illinois Flag Display Act are ordered to fly the United States and state flags at half-staff in remembrance of the victims of the terror attacks.

“We will never forget the nearly 3,000 men and women who lost their lives in the heinous attacks that shook our nation fifteen years ago today.

“Today and every day we honor their memory.
