About-to-be appointed District 3 McHenry County Board member Chris Christensen has filed his first campaign finance report with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
It says he has $9,300 so far.
Two entities made contributions of $1,000 or more:
- $2,000 – Vince and Patricia Foley, North Barrington
- $2,000 – Intren, Union
Who gave other amounts over $100 will show up when Christensen files his Quarterly Report with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
Christensen was a leader in the fight against the Oakwood Hills gas powered electric generating plant.
He was selected to run for County Board in place of Nick Provenzano, who just retired to take a full-time job with Congressman Randy Hultgren.
Christensen and Mike Walkup will be on the Republican side of the ballot.
They will be running against Diane Johnson and Kathy Bergan Schmidt, who was just slated by Democrats to replace Kenneth Miller, who died last Friday.
Johnson reported giving her campaign $2,000 on July 22nd. Unsurprisingly, Schmidt has not submitted any campaign financing report to the State Board of Elections.
Best of luck to Chris!
Don’t try the kool-aid!
It’s spiked with lies!
Chris is no one trick pony.
Frankly I am not sure he sleeps.
He wasn’t just one of the key leaders, who prevented the Oakwood Hills Power Plant from moving forward.
He has been involved in countess community events and also serves as a school board member for Cary Community Consolidated District 26 since 2013.
What a turn around this district has seen since prior boards ran it into the ground and had them facing state takeover just 6 years ago.
The D26 Board just passed a resolution last month to restructure their Bond debt that will save the taxpayers an additional $3.2 million.

Welcome aboard Chris, we need another voice for the taxpayers!
We’ve got some momentum
Goin Chris, talking to everyone
I know in district 3 about you.
Signs popping up all over, beautiful !
