The following letter by Chris Lawrence to the Northwest Herald is published with permission of the writer:
Franks serves Chicago elite
Jack Franks is a super-delegate for Hillary Clinton who attracts rich Chicago and Cook County lawyers and politicians to fund his McHenry County race.
A career politician who claimed he would retain his representative seat against a popular opponent, Franks cannot solicit enough cash from his actual constituents to sustain his expensive and extravagant campaign.
A $1,000 (minimum) per plate fundraiser Sept. 7 in Oak Brook should sound off alarms.
Who will Jack Franks represent as McHenry County chairman?
McHenry County residents who cannot afford his luxurious fundraisers nor donate to his campaign?
Jack Franks will succumb even further to the Chicago political machine and the corruption, cronyism and fraud that are synonymous to that type of campaign fundraising.
Michael Walkup is not bought and paid for by the rich, Chicago elite.
Walkup understands his middle class constituents and will best represent us as County Chair.

This letter to the Northwest Herald is probably the first time its readers have been informed that Jack Franks was a Democratic Party National Convention Delegate both this year and in 2008, the year Barack Obama first won.
