Last Friday a friend from Woodstock told me that one day Jack Franks’ yard signs showed up on lots of homes on his street.

What was done about the unsolicited signs?

Well, there was one neighbor who does not keep his lawn mowed.

The neighbors put all the signs on his front yard.

  1. More reports of Jack Franks political campaign spamming on occupied residential properties.

    Javk Franks robo signs.

    Like robo telemarketing calls.

They show up when they are not wanted.

To get the sign on private property one would have to tresspass.

  2. People should be more concerned about how Franks would destroy McHenry County by his ideas.

Not about stupid signs he puts on their property.

    Just throw them away.

I can’t believe people are making such a big deal about this.

    It’s stupid.

  3. voter?

You are stupid if you let this POS get away with this.

    Throw it away?

    It’s ceriminal!

Go after him for this trespass; like Mark said (and I said from day one!).

  4. It’s hardly criminal trespassing.

    First, political speech is protected.

So you can’t sue a door to door canvasser anymore than you can a guy placing a sign in your yard.

I’d be more worried about Jack having a better ground game than Walkup.

I’d be worried about Jack having more money than Walkup.

    Or more endorsements…

    Or more volunteers….

    Or more individual contributors….

Sure, signs matter but they sure don’t vote.

  5. You leave crap on my lawn, I’m going to sue you! You come on my property without my permission; take your chances! There are laws against dumping. Here’s your free legal advice for the day. …”Otherwise, document their trespasses and file a police report. Get dates and times. If you can get photos or statements from people who witnesses the event, that will be of tremendous help. They can be fined and ordered to stay off your property.”… legalzoom dot com

  6. It is not trespassing to place a political sign in someone’s yard without permission?

Cities and villages allow the placement of a political sign on private property without permission?

    +++++

Maybe Jack Franks and John Bartman are worried about living up to a campaign pledge to lower property taxes 10% in every single property taxing district in the county.

When taxpayers owe the Woodstock teacher and administrator pension $216 Million dollars as of June 30, 2015.

When most Downstate police and fire pensions are vastly underfunded in the county.

When both candidates are labor union friendly and reject almost every suggestion in the Governor Rauner administration Turnaround Agenda.

In fact Jack Franks called Governor Rauner a union buster.

Or maybe they are concerned the cut 10 campaign to reduce property taxes has no timeframe as to when the 10% reduction would be achieved.

Or maybe they are concerned the voters will not vote for them since they refuse to release their plan to cut property taxes 10% in every property taxing district in the county until after the election.

Maybe they are concerned not a single person other than themselves has publicly said property taxes can be cut 10% in every property taxing district in the county.

    +++++

Jack Franks and John Bartman can cut property taxes 10% in every property taxing district in the county.

    Jeffery Lichte is a Republican.

  7. Putting a sign on someone’s lawn without permission is obnoxious and rude, but not criminal trespass, unless they had notice prior to entry on private land that they were not permitted to enter.

A “no trespassing,” sign will do it.

  8. Is there a misdemeanor or any other penalty not categorized as criminal trespass for placing a political sign without permission on private property in McHenry County or in a city or village in McHenry County?

The legal zoom reference implies there is, depending of course on state and local laws.

Political speech protection includes placing a political sign on private property without permission?

  9. Couldn’t you spray paint a diagonal line across it and leave it? Kind of a “don’t vote for this idiot” sign.

  10. No, Mark.

    You are absolutely right.

    There is not.

Only fools are arguing that this is free speech and not a crime.

This is what we have become.

    Fools and morons.
