Lying Jack Franks’ Paid Help — 43 Comments

  1. Report was filed electronically 10/17/2016 7:42:55 PM.

    Would that not qualify for late reporting?

  2. **Report was filed electronically 10/17/2016 7:42:55 PM. Would that not qualify for late reporting?**

    If 15th falls on a weekend, the report needs to be filed by the end of the next business day.

  3. And why are you publishing their home addresses?

    Granted it’s public record but let those reading it look up the public record.

  4. Kathy?

    That struck me as odd, too.

    But then again these are the times we live in.

    Surely no one that reads Cal’s blog is from the “side” that actually takes people out for not agreeing with them.

  5. The point is that these 28 people are not volunteers.

    They are paid by the Jack Franks political action committee (PAC) named Supporters of Jack D Franks.

    +++++++++++++

    Supporters of Jack D Franks is registered with the Illinois State Board of Elections (SBE).

    The SBE committee ID is 19464.

    The PAC was created on January 17, 2006.

    The prior PAC was named Citizens for Jack D Franks.

  6. You don’t know that they wouldn’t volunteer- several of them have for YEARS.

    Walkup has no volunteers and no money to pay for walkers….. so what’s your point?

    That Frank’s can and does pay for walkers?

    and…..?

    Walkup has Republican Precinct committeeman who aren’t even walking for him…..

    Can we please talk about what Walkup is doing for once?

  7. The point is that the above people from July 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016 were paid by the Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC.

    In that capacity, they were not volunteers.

    The point is very clear.

    To be more specific, the expenditure total was $47,013 to the above 28 people from July 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016 made by the Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC.

  8. Still can’t see why this even is posted.

    So what I would rather pay my people for helping me.

    Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t vote for Franks but I like a fair fight and just because someone can raise a lot of money, pay their workers and support from their party and have fundraisers at nice places shouldn’t be a reason someone doesn’t vote for them.

    It should be because of who they are and what they represent and that is why Franks will not win.

  9. Shame on you Cal.

    It’s one thing to publish the names.

    It’s another to publish home addresses.

    How are the home addresses news worthy, er, Blog-worthy????

    Pretty irresponsible for the author of a blog who is obsessed to taking down Jack Franks to publish the home addresses of his workers.

    Leave them out of your beef. T

    ake out the home addresses.

  10. AND the handful of fools that want Cal to redact public records because they are offended (NOT) are really telling you how against freedom of speech they really are!

  11. A correction in the expenditure total, should be $46,479, not $47,013.

    +++++++++++++++++++++

    The Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC expenditures for Paid Help from July 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016 were categorized as follows by the PAC, as reported on the State Board of Elections website:

    Consulting: $10,000

    Independent Contractors: $24,058

    Mileage: $2,367

    Staff Salaries: $10,054

    Total: $46,479

    +++++++++++

    The $10,000 for Consulting went to Matthew Cain.

    The Jack Franks PAC had additional Consulting Expenditure during July 1, 2016 – September 20, 2016, that are not included in the above list of 28 for paid help.

    So, for the purposes of paid help as it is being discussed here, we can remove his name and the $10,000.

    The Independent Contractor expenditures of $24,058 can be classified as paid help.

    How much of the Staff Salaries and mileage that would be classified as paid help is debatable.

    So for a narrow definition go with $24,058.

    +++++++++++++++

    The $10,054 in staff salaries was expended as follows (figures rounded up):

    Linda Dikun – $799.

    Malia Haanio – $2,127.

    Robert Maxey – $1,988.

    Jonathan Miceli – $3,013.

    David Raymond – $2,127.

    Total Staff Salaries: $10,054.

    +++++++++++++++++++++

    Some of those receiving Staff Salaries, also received additional compensation as an Independent Contractor:

    Malia Haanio – $914

    Robert Maxey – $1,770

    David Raymond – $2,754

    ++++++++++++++++++

    Some of those receiving Staff Salaries, also received additional money for mileage:

    Linda Dikun – $855.

    ++++++++++++++++++

    The Mileage expenditures were as follows:

    Linda Dikun – $855

    Bridget Geenen – $750

    John Gordon – $762

    +++++++++++++++++++++++

  12. The most highly compensated paid help listed above is David A Raymond.

    He was paid $4,881.

    He resides in Lake County.

    He is Chairman for the Grant Township Democrats, and was appointed as Grant 141 Precinct Committeemen in the summer of 2015 and elected in March 2016.

    He is the Assistant Campaign Manager for Supporters of Jack D Franks from May 2016 – present.

    He was Field Director for Supporters of Jack D Franks from June 2015 – August 2015.

    He was District Office Intern for Supporters of Jack D Franks from June 2015 – August 2015.

    His LinkedIn page said he graduated from NIU in May 2016 and was President of the NIU Democrats and Vice President of the NIU Model Illinois Government chapter.

    ++++++++++++

    The $4,881 is categorized as follows in Supporters of Jack D Franks reporting:

    Staff Salaries – $2,127

    Independent Contractor – $2,754

  13. What’s the point of listing the home address, Cindy?

    Please tell me.

    Maybe Cal can respond?

    I’m not “really against freedom of speech.”

    I don’t mind that he posted it the names with a link.

    I’m just advocating for using a little common sense.

    One can only guess why Cal would list the actual home addresses.

    Why not just the city if he’s trying to make a point that some of these people are from the scary evil corrupt CHICAGO.

    Cal is wrong and should redact that info.

    Listing the home addresses with street names and numbers serves no news worthy or even Cal Skinner blog-worthy purpose.

    It’s just wrong and really indefensible.

    He should edit the post and move on.

    But we live in the post-Trump candidacy world where admitting mistakes is taboo for any right wing nut.

  14. 815 voter?

    You are pretty picky about public information having to be scanned and redacted for your delicate eyes.

    Why don’t you write your congressman and ask them to redact all those addresses from public documents?

  15. Did the Jack Franks PAC explain to the contractors that they are paid contractors?

    They are not volunteers when they are getting paid as contractors.

  16. At least assholes are useful and do serve a purpose.

    More than I can say about some of the comments.

  17. What is the claim, that some of these are high school kids?

    What do you mean by kids?

  18. The second highest expenditure of the 27 listed above (taking out Matthew Cain’s consulting) is for Robert Maxey.

    The expenditures from the Supporters of Jack Franks PAC to Robert Maxey for the period July 1, 2016 – September 30, 2016 were reported as follows:

    – Staff Salaries $1,988

    – Independent Contractor $1,770

    – Total $3,758

    Robert Maxey is the current Chairman (Campaign Coordinator) of the Jack D Franks PAC, a role he has had since May 2016.

    Prior to that he was an Intern for 63rd District State Representative Jack Franks, from May 2014 – August 2014.

    Prior to that he was an Intern at Marzulla Law in Washington DC.

    He is pursuing his law degree at Marquette University Law School, beginning in 2015, anticipated completion 2018.

  19. The third highest expenditure of the 27 listed above (taking out Matthew Cain’s consulting) is for Malia Haanio.

    The expenditures from the Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC to Malia Haanio for the period July 1, 2016 – September 30, 2016 were reported by the PAC to the State Board of Elections (SBE) as follows:

    – Staff Salaries $2,127

    – Independent Contractor $913

    – Total $3,040

    She is a graduate of Illinois State University.

  20. Malia Haanio has been the Staff Office Secretary for the Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC since May 2014.

  21. The fourth highest expenditure of the 27 listed above (taking out Matthew Cain’s consulting) is for Johnathan Miceli (John Miceli).

    The expenditures from the Supporters for Jack D Franks PAC to John Miceli for the period July 1, 2016 – September 30, 2016 were reported by the PAC to the SBE as follows:

    Was an Evidence Analyst at the Law Offices of Robert T Hanlon & Associates from May 2011 – August 2012.

    Education is listed as University of Iowa.

  22. The fourth highest expenditure of the 27 listed above (taking out Matthew Cain’s consulting) is for Henry P Franks (Henry Franks).

    The expenditures from the Supporters for Jack D Franks PAC to Henry Franks for the period July 1, 2016 – September 30, 2016 were reported by the PAC to the SBE as follows:

    Independent Contractor – $2,140.

    Henry Franks is elected Democrat Precinct Committeeman of Coral 1 (there is only 1 precinct in Coral Township, which lies southeast of Marengo).

    Henry Franks is presumably attending college.

    He is the youngest son of Jack Franks.

  23. Oops Henry Franks is the 5th highest.

    +++++++++++++

    #6 is Angel Alicea.

    Independent Contractor – $1,779.

    He’s a member of the University of Iowa Student Government, a pre-law student majoring in Political Science.

  24. Cindy – My eyes aren’t delicate and I am not “offended” by anything Cal posted.

    I think he used poor judgment because there is no purpose to post home addresses for Jack Franks workers.

    I can speculate as to why he would publish home addresses of Jack Franks workers on what has essentially become an anti-Jack Frank blog.

    It’s not because how it affects me.

    It’s not because I’m offended.

    It’s not because my eyes are delicate.

    It’s because there are crazy people out there and publishing the home addresses to Cal’s readers of anti-Jack Franks readers serves no purpose.

    Clearly the point is lost on you.

  25. Just don’t see why this is a big deal.

    This info is already public information,
    As stated before.

    As the police say to people, move along,
    Move along.

  26. #7 is Linda L Dikun.

    Payments from the Jack Franks PAC to Linda Dikun reported Jully 1, 2016 – September 30, 2016.

    Staff Salaries – $799

    Mileage – $855

    Total – $1,654

    ++++++++++++++++

    Linda Dikun is the current Treasurer of the Jack Franks PAC.

    Linda Dikun is a former Legislative Liaison for Jack Franks.

    Payments from the State to Linda Dikun for a House of Representatives position:

    2007 – $8,075

    2005 – $11,757

  27. You know what else is public information Watchdog 2?

    That you are John Radke’s wife.

  28. Somehow the snowflakes are seriously offended by public documents not being redacted.

    They clearly do not understand public.

    No amount of explaining this has dented their thick skulls.

  29. The point isn’t that it is public information.

    The point is that it was information that most people wouldn’t have had, and information that can only endanger the people involved and adds nothing to the argument.

    Most of the private contractors working for Franks also volunteer with him at parades and events, and almost all of them are high school or college kids who do not deserve to be targeted.

  30. The 11th person on the list is named John Gordon.

    Could it be the same John Gordon who wrote the following letter to the Northwest Herald?

    +++++++++

    Northwest Herald

    Letter: Walkup Should Exit Race

    September 21, 2016

    To the Editor:

    This is an open letter to Mike Walkup to ask him to please exit the McHenry County Board chairman race.

    Walkup is an embarassment to the Republican ticket and harms the other legitimate board candidates.

    Walkup is a liberal tax-and-spend politician.”

    The letter goes on and ends with:

    John Gordon
    Woodstock

  31. There is also a John Gordon listed in Illinois House of Representatives payroll:

    Mr. Tenner is a Democrat political operative.

    His father, Gene Tenner, is Communications Director for the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, which is the regional affiliate of many Chicago area carpenter union locals.

    The regional council also operates multi-employer pension and health & welfare funds.

    Sean Tenner has worked on many Democrat campaigns including:

    – Jack Franks as Democrat candidate for McHenry County Board Chair ($200 expenditure from the Supporters for Jack D Franks PAC for consulting expended on election day, November 8, 2016).

    – Ricardo Munoz as Democrat candidate for Chicago 22nd Ward Alderman

    – Chicago 46th Ward Democrats

    – several others.

    +++++++++++++++++++

    The Chair & Treasurer of the Cut 10 PAC, Mr. Kling, is also the landlord for Jack Franks political office, as reported by the Supporters of Jack D Franks PAC, through an organization known as:

    777 LLC, 10 N 916 Highland Trail, Hampshire, Illinois (Burlington Hills subdivision).

    Rent prices:

    $1,300 per month from November 3, 2012 – October 31, 2013.

    $1,339 per month from December 1, 2013 – June 29, 2014.

    $1,379 per month from November 1, 2014 – October 1, 2015.

    $1,000 per month from November 1, 2015 – December 1, 2016.

    Moderate has stated the Jack Franks PAC shared rent for the space with the State for Mr. Franks’ State Representative office; when that arrangement began is unknown.

    ++++++++++++

    Why the Cut 10 committee was designated a ballot initiative committee is unknown.

    It does not seem to have been accurately identified….did anyone see anything about a Cut 10 ballot initiative?

    The Cut 10 initiative promoted cutting the tax property levy of every single property taxing district in McHenry County 10%…the campaign was linked directly with electing Jack Franks as County Board Chair…not a ballot initiative.
