The Courthouse rumor when a man was found to have dropped a handgun at the Woodstock Post Office was that it was Associate Judge Thomas Meyer.
The Woodstock Police Department would not release the information.
Now, the Northwest Herald has done the heavy lifting and found the man was Judge Meyer.
Its article said that the Federal government declined to prosecute because there was not a “No Guns Allowed” symbol on the Post Office’s door.
The paper said he was licensed to carry a firearm.
