McHenry County Republican Recorder of Deeds candidate Joe Tirio (he of “IWontHireMyWife.com” and “ErasetheRecorder.com” fame) got a rebuttal of his Democratic Party opponent Lynn Gray’s claim that McHenry County is too populous a county for such a merger.

Tirio, of course, has campaigned on getting ride of the McHenry County Recorder of Deeds Office by holding a referendum to ask voters if they want to merge the two offices.

Sunday, the Chicago Sun-Times basically said, “Go for it!” in Cook County.

I need not point out that Cook County is larger than McHenry County.
