2. On election night, staff at the McHenry County Clerk office will be using GEMS software to collect all of the information from all of the voting machines in the County.
This reporting will include Early voting results.
At some point, the absentee / mail-in ballots will be read by machines and the details will be added to the GEMS reporting data base.
In the past, poll watchers served the primary purpose of tracking who had voted and who did not to facilitate the routing of ‘chasers’ to get those people who had not yet voted to the polls.
Now the primary purpose of poll watchers is to look for fraud.
It has been shown by both Democrats and Republicans that the GEMS vote tabulation systems are subject to manipulation.
Here is one thing you can do: On election night when the Clarity Elections vote reporting system starts to publish results, take print screens of the results or use your ‘smart’ phone to take pictures of the screen.
Or, you can simple right click on the results link page and select ‘copy all’ followed by pasting the copy into a blank ‘Word’ document (Microsoft users).
Each time you do this, save the document with the date and time of the copy.
There is a link on the McHenry County website’s Clerk’s ‘election’ page to view election results. As of today it still displays results from the primary.
During the primary I collected evidence that some totals were changed (reduced for some candidates). This evidence was ignored by officials.
If we can get more people monitoring for and reporting on totals manipulation we improve the chance of reducing the manipulation of election results.
After the election is over, we must insist on having members of the public present when the official state mandated five percent audit occurs. Contact your Democrat and Republican County chairman to ensure this happens.

General Election
