Lying Jack Franks Campaigning at LITH Polls — 2 Comments

  1. The signature campaign pitch of Jack Franks this election cycle is Cut 10.

    That is to cut property taxes 10% in every property taxing district in the County.

    There are many issues which make that pitch unrealistic, plus:

    – the County taxing district only represents about 10% of a property tax bill,

    – the County Board Chair does not vote on County Board measures thus can’t vote to cut County property taxes.

    So what is going on?

    Well, here is a bit of news that Jack Franks has not brought to the attention of voters.

    A “ballot initiative committee” named the “Cut 10 Committee” was created August 26, 2016.

    The purpose of the committee is “To pass a statewide referendum requiring all taxing bodies to reduce their tax levy by 10%.”

    The D-1 Statement of Organization was signed August 31, 2016.

    The Illinois State Board of Elections (SBE) filed the D-1 on its website on September 2, 2016.

    The chair of the Cut 10 Committee was one of 17 to make the first contributions to the Citizens of Jack D Franks PAC on December 2, 1997 (Jack Franks was first voted into office as a State Representative on November 3, 1998).

    The chair of the Cut 10 Committee along with his wife (sometimes joint contributions were made) has contributed $113,250 to Jack Franks PACs since December 2, 1997.

    Could the Cut 10 Committee be part of Jack Franks’ secret plan to cut property taxes 10% in every property taxing district in the County?

    Jack Franks has refused to reveal his plan to cut property taxes 10% in every property taxing district in the county, until after the election.

  2. Typo.

    The County Board Chair does not vote on County Board measures, thus Jack can’t vote to cut County property taxes.

    +++++++

    By the way, cutting county property taxes 10% would result in an approximate 1% reduction on the property tax bill, since the county represents about 10% of a property tax bill, and 10% of 10% is 1%.
