Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, is pleased to announce that on his first day in office he has cut the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s budget by almost 5%, saving taxpayers over $100,000/year.

“The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office has committed to cutting its budget 10% by 2020 without sacrificing service,” said Kenneally.

“This is an important first step that would not have been possible without the efforts and insights of Peter Austin, the County Administrator, who helped the State’s Attorney’s Office make the necessary restricting changes.”

The savings are derived from the elimination of two criminal attorney positions and two administrative assistant staff positions.

  1. Unless the levy is cut, a budget cut doesn’t save me jack shit.

  2. well unless he cuts a whole lot more 5%’s from what the last S.A. cost us taxpayers he is no better… than the last one.

  3. Can he prosecute the gross incompetence of certain county officials?

  4. If gross incompetence of government officials were a crime, they’d have to expand the jail.
