Skillicorn Sworn In, Outlines Agenda for Taxpayers

A press release from State Rep. Allen Skillicorn:

Skillicorn Takes Oath of Office, Sets Out On Taxpayer Focused Agenda

SPRINGFIELD – Today, Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) took the oath of office to represent the 66th District in the Illinois House of Representatives. Skillicorn, who won the November 8, 2016 election, will replace the retiring Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake).

“I want to thank the voters and residents of the 66th House District for the opportunity to represent you in Springfield,” said Skillicorn. “Illinois government is broken, but we can fix it. I’ve consistently advocated for doing more with less while I was a Trustee in East Dundee and I will bring that same attitude to the General Assembly. It’s time for Illinois to pass real property tax relief, reform our broken workers’ compensation system and stop the spiraling pension debt. I will fight for this every day in Springfield.”

Skillicorn will hit the ground running in Springfield with several pieces of legislation already prepared for filing, keeping a promise he made to get to work on day one. Those pieces of legislation concern property tax relief, workers’ compensation reform, ending Illinois legislator pensions, shinning a spotlight on special taxing districts known as TIF’s, as well a series of other pieces of legislation currently in the drafting process.

Skillicorn is a life-long resident of the Fox River Valley and prior to being elected to the Illinois House of Representatives served as Trustee in the Village of East Dundee, a position he was elected to in 2011. Skillicorn and his wife are active volunteers with a local dog therapy group and animal rescue, he also serves as a Kane County Committeemen.

Skillicorn is employed as the Marketing Director for a local electronics manufacturer.
