ROBERT MILLER SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF AGGRAVATED DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Robert Miller, 59, of Woodstock was found guilty of the offense of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and was sentenced today to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
On August 27, 2015, deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department observed Miller leaving Horizontals Bar in Wonder Lake, IL.
As Miller was backing out, deputies heard Miller squeal his tires and accelerate at a high rate of speed.
Deputies followed Miller after activating their overhead lights, Miller increased his speed, attempting to elude officers.
While fleeing, Miller disregarded a stop sign and was weaving in and out of his traffic lane.
Miller only stopped once he came to a dead end road.
Miller has been found guilty of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol on five prior occasions.
This case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Randi Freese and Criminal Chief John Gibbons.
