  1. Does everyone always have to have a negative outlook over a good cause.

I think Sheriff Prim is doing a wonderful thing helping out through the Sheriff’s department.

  2. The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association started these scholarship programs in 1979.

These scholarships range from $500.00 to $1,000 and every Illinois County gives out at least one $500.00 scholarship each school year and is given by the organization.

The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association is a non-profit organization supported only by contributions from their membership.

Considering how many Counties we have in Illinois that adds up to a lot of scholarships helping the kids.

  3. And maybe there have been many worthy recipients.

I just remember one young lady receiving it and her father just happened to be a patrol sergeant captain, a very well-paid supervisor.

But hey, let’s just pretend that never happened.

  4. “The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association is a non-profit organization supported only by contributions from their membership.”

Is it safe to assume the contributions from their membership are tax dollars?

  5. I don’t remember the year.

    Captain S of MCSP.

By all accounts, the young lady was and is a wonderful human being as is her father.

    That’s not the point.

  6. It was probably when Fat Boy and Zinke were around.

I am confident that Sheriff Prim will choose the right and deserving student

  7. CP What percentage of applicants are related to current and past Sheriffs?

  8. If parental income is not a stipulation than it doesn’t matter if any of the sheriff’s workers offspring got scholarships.

They fit the criteria and got in before they were all gone.

  9. Sheriff Prim just completed his 2nd year in office.

HE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THE PREVIOUS SHERIFF DID.

  10. It did look bad in the past.

I believe Sheriff Prim is an improvement for sure.

Problem is, all the terrible supervisors are still there.

Sheriff Prim hasn’t revisited the County homicides where MIAT was not called on to assist.

    Like President Trump, results talk.

    Prim has much to prove.

  11. CP – Maybe he is trying to prevent a bunch of lawsuits that those people could create by firing.

Cannot fire them for offenses that occurred 15 or 20 yrs ago where Nygren imposed light punishment.

He cannot undo that and needs cause for what they do on his watch.

  12. When Prim supported Miller, I was floored.

Now that the Miller dynasty will soon be part of the corrupt past, maybe Prim will wake up.

It’s funny because Miller did zero to help Prim get elected ……. while Gasser worked hard for Prim.

If that’s how he shows gratitude, Prim is not rational …. perhaps politically suicidal.

  13. Old Man – some choose qualifications over vendetta’s.

You will recall that Miller DID NOT ENDORSE PRIM.

  14. Prim’s deputies have to drive on those roads.

Perhaps he is concerned for their safety with a completely unqualified person maintaining them.

  15. IMHO Not smart for a Sheriff to endorse other political candidates.

    What next?

    Judges endorse States Attorneys?

    Sheriffs?
