Dem Hooks Up with Republican Algonquin Township Trustee Candidates for Fusion Ticker

The only candidate for Algonquin Township Trustee who is a Democrat, Dominique Miller, has supporters distributing a postcard with her photo and those of three of the Republicans who won in the February primary election.

The literature promoting the election of three Republicans and one Democrat to the Algonquin Township Board.

Left out is Republican Precinct Committeeman Rachael Lawrence.

If you look closely, you can see that Dominique Miller is identified as a Democrat on the address side of the postcard.

The three Republican Primary Election winners who photos appear with Miller’s are

  • Dan Shea
  • Melissa Victor
  • Dave Chapman

I admit to never having run into Victor or Chapman in my many years in local Republican politics.

Victor appeared in an earlier version of the post card with Miller, as you can see here.

Miller ran for a District 2 McHenry County Board seat last fall as a Democrat and lost.

  1. Aren’t 3 of these candidates from Bob Millers slate?

    I’m not surprised by this.

I see that Mr. Miller has joined the McHenry County Progressive movement after losing his election.

Too many Dems running as Republicans in this election.

  2. What?

You see that Me Miller has joined the progressives?

    How?

    Where oh knowledgeable one?

  3. It’s not too late for the Republican Party to get it’s head out of it’s big grey ass, but it’s getting there. Act now while you still have a Party left.

Primary time is coming. Use it wisely.

  4. Wizard, the primary is over.

Miller had all the progressives pulling for him on Cary Grove Politics FB page. That was telling in itself! It wouldn’t surprise me in the least as I feel he and his wife were Dems running as Repubs.

  5. @ Semper Fi

Yes, for these races it’s too late, but the entire Party hangs in the balance and petition passing for the primaries to be held next spring starts at the end of summer (late August I think).

  6. DO NOT ALLOW GASBAG GASSER ANY MORE POWER!

HE IS A THRET TO ALGONQUIN TOWNSHIP AND MCHENRY COUNTY!

VOTE FOR MILLER, SHEA, VOCTOR, AND CHAPMAN!

STAY AWAY FROM THE GASBAG THAT IS GASSER.

WE CAN ONLY HOPE HE DOES NOT DESTROY OUR ROADS!

  7. “Dirty Gasser’ …..an apt moniker if there ever was one.

    Did he/she go to MCC?

I only ask bc the grammer and spelling are so poor.

    3 RINOs & a hyena!

  8. Shea’s pix looks like something from a police DWI mugshot arrest.

  9. Too late DG.

AG has all of the power that Bob Miller and the TOI fought to maintain for Highway Commissioners throughout the state.

The Board can try as much as they want but legally they will not be able to stop him from cutting costs and reducing taxes.

Given Miller’s abuse of the taxpayers over the years it would not surprise me to see Gasser reduce taxes by 40%.

  10. How will Gasser get any reforms passed without at least 2 Trustees on his side?

Will the Annual Township Meeting bring any excitement?

  11. The Board has no real power over the Highway Commissioner.

They can’t stop Gasser from doing anything.

That’s why the Miller has been able to roughshed over the taxpayers for so long.

  12. Re: “How will Gasser get any reforms passed without at least 2 Trustees on his side?

It would appear you are rather naive.

Over the years, the Road Commissioners (under some guidance from Bob Miller) have successfully totally ‘neutered’ the annual meeting.

In addition, the Highway Commissioner position has become one of the most secure dictatorial political positions in the state of Illinois.

Based on current law, an elected Highway Commissioner is paid whatever the previous Township Board of Trustees decided the position was worth and that salary must be paid regardless of performance.

The Board AND THE TAXPAYERS, have ZERO direct impact on how the Road Commissioner spends his / her taxpayer dollars collected.

The Highway Commissioner sets the Roads Department levy / budget – the Board has zero control.

About the only way you could get a Highway Commissioner removed from office is via a Quo Warranto procedure.

2005 Illinois 735 ILCS 5/ Code of Civil Procedure. Article XVIII – Quo Warranto

With Bob now retired and having ready access to a family lawyer, I would advise Andrew to do the best job he possibly can because I believe such a procedure would likely be instituted if he leads the Highway Department with his ego and tries to immediately ‘clean house’.
